Clay: Jiangpo Ni. High fired. Feels like zhu ni yet behaves like zi ni, how odd.
Size: 145 ml.
Age/Year: Modern- late 2000's.
Walls: Medium thick.
Pour: Fast, no drips, tight lid fit.
Source: eBay (Wisdom China, Guangzhou).
Tea Pairing: Ripe puerh. As I already stated this clay just enhances the flavour of the tea bringing up the higher notes a lot more like other clays I regularly use for this particular tea (di cao qing, qing shui ni and duan ni).

Any chance I could beg of you to post another photo of this lovely little lady?

Showoff time! Three recent acquisitions, two of which are not yet fired. The unfired zini was fully handmade by a famous master! The rough curves are meant to be indicative of the futility of the current system's tendency to strive towards elegant and clean lines, and the zen of accepting the natural contours and inconsistencies of nature. Very valuable.

Next is the unfired duanni. Carved by myself and my wife! We won't get them back until January, and I didn't want to wait to show off.

Third is a glazed zini pot, maybe 1 liter or 1.5 liters? I really, really like this glaze. We wanted to get a vase, but we could only find the glaze on this one piece with our limited time, so we snagged it.

will ultimately go to ripe tea, right now I have been trying different shu and sheng in it. the clay quality is quite nice, the workmanship is a little rougher than I would like but nothing terrible. Lid is slightly not tight and some heavy tooling marks in certain areas.

Lol, by the way, with all the heat about master and not in the other thread, I'll just clear the air of my silly little joke: that zini pot was made by me; my first attempt at a teapot (took three tries just to keep it from imploding). Just having a little fun.

Size:65ml
Age/Year: Modern- late 2000's.
Walls: Thick
Pour: +/- 5 sec. No drips. Air tight lid fit.

Artist: Chen Ju Fang
Tea Pairing: Sheng 20 + years and the occassional lui bao 50+ years
Info: This is of a much higher quality zini than my other chen ju fang pot. The craftsmanship is also a few steps up aswell this thing is trully well crafted very swifty pour with almost no chugging untill 90 degrees. I have had the pot less than a week and I have already noticed a change in the clay.Also for a new pot it really took almost nothing away from the tea and there was a big improvement in mouthfeel.

That's a very beautiful pot, gasninja. The dark clay is really nice, and I particularly like the shape of that lid -- it looks really nice both on and off of the pot!

No it really wasn't a special order of that nature. I simply just asked him to find me a pot under 65 ml that would be good for aged sheng this is what he came up with. Master Zhou calls this piece a Li xing shui pin. the spout not being bent as I have noticed on most Li xing pots.

The tea seems to coat your mouth more out of this pot. Leaving a feeling a bit like if you took a sip of olive oil.

I was asking since I have recently bought 2 pots. And They improve mouth feel, the tea in pots feel thicker that gaiwan. But it is subtle, not really that obvious.

And they are absorbent somehow, since after using them at night I left them with the lid on and the next day they are dry and have some tea aroma.

However, when I used them and compare them against a gaiwan. They act sort like a modern zhuni. Enhancing flavour and aromas but don´t tame biterness ( not good thing I guess). And I was hoping that they did since I wanted to use them for 5-10 years sheng.
I will compare them against my modern zhuni to see the difference.


Not great pots but not super terrible either I guess. One hei ni the other zini from sampletea. Craftsmanship of zini better than hei ni. Hei ni, has the worst craftsmanship ever, but I was warned by he vendor beforehand

A very rare Grape Purple Sand. 1970's SP. 1st show by High Mountain Anxi Xiping Tikwanyin Yancha.

This yixing will eventually have a nice Montepulciano hue of patina. Cant wait!
