Re: These entry level Yixing pots look good to me!

Tea stains on the inside of a pot don't matter. I don't even bother wiping my pots at all now, inside or out. I use them to make tea!

The owner of a tea store http://the-chinese-tea-company.com/, where I bought my second Yixing from), taught me to use a soft scourer to rub inside of the teapot once in a while. She has a teapot she's been using for 5 years, so beautiful that it looks like there is a layer of oil coated on the surface... Of course it is not for sale! :)

I read tea stains are not good for health:

Just bought a duanni pot from the seller. Will try both delicate greens and traditional storage shu, and let's see what happens! Green first, and if I like the result, I'll stick to green only!

Which duanni pot did you buy?

I have bought this one :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/222023780497
tried this jiaogulan, 100 degree, 10 mins
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Premium-Organic ... =Jiaogulan
the result is great, the best jiaogulan I've ever had. ^^

Bought this one:

Wow, using a Yixing for jiaogulan?? Is that the only thing you are going to brew in the pot? I haven't had jiaogulan in a while since it is in a different supplement that I use, but it is pleasant drinking. I got some very high grade fine leaf jiaogulan a few years ago and still have a lot left. I gave some to my sister, but I don't think she ever tried it!

Thanks for the link. The colour looks bright yellow to me. Is the actual colour so bright?

Yes, I've been using Yixing for jiaogulan. I like it very much! Especially when I feel a bit "火氣大" or lack of sleep. I tried this brand after reading good reviews, but disappointed to find it has a strange taste I dislike. Many people mentioned on this thread that duanni can get rid of some bad tastes, so I gave it a go.... It didn't work on shu puerh as I hoped, but worked on jiaogulan! :)

From reading, it appears the lighter yellow is supposed to be lower iron content. I haven't received the pot yet, but I'll let you know what the color is like and how it performs when it comes in.

Interesting experience re: jiaogulan vs shu pu erh. Maybe the duanni really is better for green tea! Do you rinse your jiaogulan?

Yes, I rinse for a few seconds only.

Just received this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/222024472191 (was $55 when I bought it, went up to $70 right after)

It looks really good, beautiful teapot. Was packed very well with tons of protection, could go a few times around the world without a scratch in all that, took me some time to dig the box out of all its protection  .

The box that comes with it is perfect for protection too, big cushions all around the inside and metal lock to keep it closed, not really beautiful, nor good quality box, but does its job :)

Also came with a cup that wasn't mentioned on the ebay listing. Always a good surprise :D

I'll take and post pictures when I get home.

Not yet, I just put some water to see how well it was flowing out (seemed slightly slow), nothing more.

Currently seasoning it, I'll probably try it tomorrow or the day after.

I like this zhuni pot so much that I bought a second one :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/222023664295
It has the thinnest wall I've every seen.
And it turns into a beautiful rich deeper red colour when there is hot water or tea inside... can't stop looking at it or touching it ... definitely my favourite from the seller so far!

Wow! You've bought a lot of pots. I just bought an older zini shuiping...I now have five zini shuipings in total, all 90s I believe!
