Had Nan Nuo Mountain Sheng Pu Er - 2007 from Wanling which I really liked. Unfortunately too expensive for me at £60.00 per bing...
Anyone tried the 2008 or 2009 American Hoa Nannuos from Puershop or the 2008 Nannuo Arbor Maocha? Also any thoughts on Nadacha's plantation nannuo? Looking to pick up a bing of to start drinking now.

A very nice post for a quality Nannuo: http://half-dipper.blogspot.com/
Sal- Is this what you had? How would people describe the floral/aroma from a Nannuo? magnolia, orchid, fruit or honey?

Yes, it is. I found it too rough to notice much else, so I can't help at finding the right word! I'll try it again tonight and send you a bit tomorrow.TIM wrote: Sal- Is this what you had? How would people describe the floral/aroma from a Nannuo? magnolia, orchid, fruit or honey?
I had a small sample of that one, but found it rather bland, so I didn't order a cake. I think I still have some of the sample sitting around, maybe I ought to give it another try.shogun89 wrote: actually i just remembered that the 2008 american hao 0802 is a Nannuo, i have the cake and think it is quite tasty.

By the way, the other two bottles pictured are much better.

The 902 is supposedly Nannuo and he also has some Nannuo mao cha. I am curious about the 903 as well, from Zhanglang, Menghai area, and wrapped in the factory wrapper, a practice Hobbes complained about in regard to the 904, a complaint that I pretty much agree with.shogun89 wrote: cant wait to try the 0901, seems promising.

It's virtually always noted in the description, but puerh descriptions are notoriously self-promoting and unreliable. It seems to be normal business to sell a cake as pure Nannuo (or Yiwu or Bulang or Lao Ban Zhang or Jing Mai, etc.) when there may be little or none of the advertised name in the actual cake or the material used may be only the lowest quality.
More often than not the vendor is as much in the dark as the consumer.
A tiny number of vendors, such as Nada and the famous owner of The Best Tea House in Hong Kong mentioned above by Tim, actually go to the location and oversee the production of the tea. This may or may not result in something you like. Both Jim at PuerhShop and Scott at Yunnan Sourcing have gotten involved to one extent or another in some "house" puerh cakes that they offer through their stores.
This situation leaves the majority of us puerh novices in the unfortunate position of not really knowing what anything tastes like until we can get in some years of experience and have a bit of luck.

Breathing some Nannuo this evening.... Will have tasting profile soonest:

Lew Perin's (http://www.panix.com/~perin/babelcarp.html) kindness gift.

Private commissioned 2006 pre-ming.

Not a pure Nannuo, but will use as comparison
and my set-up for the 06 testing. Using a 80 ml Chao Zhou Zhuni Teapot.
