Yeah, usually works quite well. I am trying to find out what's up all of a sudden. But for now I have turned off auto activation of new accounts until this is resolved. This is a pain, but better than spam.

Well, clearly spam ... as you can maybe tell by my lack of posting over the last week, it really bothers me. Not just because it makes more work, but it is realllly stupid and of course grossly inconsiderate.

Otherwise, lack of driving skills of the mostly inconsiderate kind. One that bugs me all the time, waiting in line to turn left at a signal, and the lead vehicle does not move into the intersection while waiting for an opportunity to turn ... which would allow several vehicles to get through. Instead, only they get through as the signal changes to red. Really selfish, inconsiderate ... ignorant.

Began the TD with Honyama from Rishi. A very nice asamushi shincha. SweeTea likes asamushi, while Pyrit, Wulong, Lili all said, "asa what?"

It bothers me when someone chastises another for making assumptions about intent and then they go and make assumptions about intent. I guess its just hypocritical.
"You want the taste of dried leaves in boiled water?"

"Er, yes. With milk."

"Squirted out of a cow?"

"Well, in a manner of speaking I suppose ..."

I try pretty hard not to get hung up on pet peeves, although it seems to be human nature that some things just simply get on our nerves.

My biggest ones revolve around people who are judgmental and intolerant of others, when they haven't walked a mile in the others' shoes. Wears me out in a hurry. Be kinder to others than you think they deserve... they are probably fighting battles and fending off demons that are not outwardly apparent.
If you're an intolerant biggot, I hope I did not offend you.

Life is too short for such nonsense... if your pet peeves list is very long, I think you are not drinking enough tea. <nods wisely>

I made homemade crepes this morning to enjoy with some FF Puttabong Darjeeling... amazingly delicious. And I got my crackled-screen iPhone fixed for free yesterday! I successfully charmed an Apple Genius named Jeff, and he said, "Let me just take care of this for you." Life is good.

Ahh, thought there might be something afoot with forum defenses. We don't see much spam on this board.

>Otherwise, lack of driving skills of the mostly inconsiderate kind. One that bugs me all the time, waiting in line to turn left at a signal, and the lead vehicle does not move into the intersection while waiting for an opportunity to turn .

Well, yeah, lack of driving skills, aggressive and sloppy driving practices are dangerous. However, moving into the intersection for a left turn when traffic flow is heavy puts you in a dangerous position if you're still stuck there when the light turns yellow (or worse, red). This is frequently the case, even in small towns because of bad traffic flow control practices.

My pet peeve is faulty urban traffic engineering. Case in point: a single high-speed, four lane artery 'bypass' that features stop light timing to curb speeding. The downside is that you are forced to stop every half mile, regardless of speed. This practice (1) wastes fuel for the mass of traffic idling at lights while a handful of perpendicular-directed, light duty traffic moves through the intersection, (2) substantially increased roadway vicinity pollution, and (3) increased pollution exposure and stress for drivers.

Your risk of developing respiratory illness in urban centers is directly proportional to the amount of time you spend in your vehicle.

If the lights were timed to encourage travel at the proper speed, but not substantially slower or faster than the limit, the flow is smoother, quieter, and less polluting.

Off to run errands; iced green tea on tap for later.

I think some pet peeves of mine include stubborn intolerance, especially to trying new things, or refusing to see things from a different perspective. I also have a pet peeve about really conservative politicians, like Dick Cheney. But I try my best to resist the urge to attack my conservative friends.

My last pet peeve is probably pretty weird. I hate it when people don't try other cuisines. This last piece is kinda directed towards my dad; he absolutely refuses any Italian cooking I do.

Enjoying some Shui Xian from TeaCuppa, which I bought about 8 months ago. Really noticing a change in flavor and aroma. Perhaps an accidental aging.

I'm a spelling and grammar nazi, and always have been. Though with advancing age I have learned to control it somewhat.

Sencha today, for the first time in weeks.

One peeve that comes up especially during political campaigns/debates, is when people dismiss someone as being completely stupid or misinformed because they don't share the same views/policital party/candidate preference.

People who ask for help on a problem but then eliminate any suggestion made as unworkable - that's another big one, especially at work and with my 10-year-old daughter!

Drivers who run red lights, people who have more than 15 items in the express lane, anyone who "walks" at a crawling rate in any store.

SpecialTeas Ti Kuan Yin this morning.

Asatsuyu shincha from Rishi with DW. I am picking up a pleasant sweetness in the background resembling sweet corn. I notice this in certain sencha breeds.

Today: Yixing Gong Fu black from Tillerman Teas. This is a strong black tea, deep sweet plum wine notes, a merged smokiness. Keemun flavor subtle and sweet, but also something else. I need to drink more to "get this" better. But I like it.

It's an interesting tea: this is the tea that is produced in Yixing, and used to season zisha pots. Course I didn't brew it in a yixing pot, shame on me!!

Are you always this energetic? I'm not complaining. I think it's wonderful, but you seem to ricochet through your day!

Herb_Master, thanks for sharing your magnificent garden again. I would really love to visit it regularly throughout a growing season. How large is it? How much work is it to maintain it? Has it won any awards or kudos besides the TeaChat Ooo and Ah Award?

RE: Pet Peeves
Boy, we sure are a bunch of cry babies here. I have to agree with everyone on every pet peeve. I never knew so many things bothered me! I feel like the Grand High Executioner with his little list of society offenders who might well be underground.

I have to second Sal re the photos, Herb_Master. I've never seen a bergamot flower before, so thank you! (And Sal, it goes without saying we love your prize-winner photos. It tires me just thinking about how amazing it is that you can do that every day! Bravo!)

People making fun of me for wearing either socks or bringing a blanket or two on trips. My feet get cold! Those NAP blankets are so cozy and amazing. Bad grammar is another pet peeve of mine... I can't think of any others at the moment.

Casablanca Twist for me.

My biggest pet peeve is when people just tap-tap-tap on things and/or fidget in noisy ways. I've gotten better at ignoring it and letting people be in the last few years, though.

Sal, I feel like that too! Everyone's pet peeves are mine as well.

This morning, on a whim, I bravely roasted some (very cheap) Premium Oolong from BirdPick. It was definitely improved, despite my inexpert methods.

What he said! :D

I have a lot of little things that annoy me, mostly to do with things people say in Swedish that sound stupid, sloppy or just ugly. Wouldn't make sense to most of you here so I won't post examples.

Bad manners in general annoy me greatly but I usually just shut up and stew in silence rather than pointing it out to people.
Not looking over your shoulder when exiting/entering a building, to see if there's someone behind you who might appeciate having the door held up for them.

People who bring childen who are clearly too young to appreciate, say, a concert and cry, wail, yell at the most inappropriate moments, ruining the atmosphere. :(

Loads more, won't bore you with them any longer though.

Began my tea day with what was probably the worst tea this year, at a cafe where they just dumped one small tea ball in about 1 L of water. Depressing.

At home I've been alternating between genmaicha and baozhong. Much better.

Pretty much hahahaha, I just never feel tired until just before bed. Get my work done then BAM going outside. I have always liked running around outside, biking, hiking, skiing, basketball, and pretty much anything since I was a kid! Add some tea to the mix, and I feel superhuman ;) jk I swear that I am clean, nooooo drugs. It's my goal to be like a friend out in colorado who was 76 years old and out skiing me in the bumps...

I really apologize for my horrible grammar on the internet guys! I have to do so much peer reviewing and grammar checks for friends/classmates that I just don't care if its not professional haha :D

Having a large cup of FF darjeeling risheehat 09, ONE session left :( Going to have YM after helping my grandmother with her iphone...should be interesting hehe.
