Re: Wednesday Teaday 7/22/09 Better late than never?
Heh, I think everyone is a little stunned, not knowing what to make of all the newness. I was just sitting here staring at the home page wondering what to do next. The old format was sooo familiar. It will be a while til I get used to this.
Across the entire forum, there is very little posting going on.
Began the TD with Kunpu shincha from Den's. Very nice asamushi! SweeTea enjoyed the lightly steamed brew while Pyrit was the only other feline visitor to the TeaTable.

New board looks great so far. I'll withhold specific complaints until the upgrade is complete, because I notice that things have already changed a couple of times since things came back online.
NCTG White Peony in my cup. Temp was all wrong for the first two steeps, so I'm feeling a little whiny. I think I'm going to head out for a sandwich at New Seasons. Maybe when I come back, I'll have figured out how to turn on my BBCode, and I can post one of my latest Poppet pics. :)

Certainly feels strange hahahahaha, but progress is always for the better!
Having some YM, little weak today. Think I am going to go search for a digital scale around town, weigh some leaf for once, heheheheh! Hope everyone has a great TeaDay!

Re: Wednesday Teaday 7/22/09 Better late than never?
I'm definitely enjoying my tea today, even though the day as such started off a little bumpy...again, the doorbell rang(at 07.30 would you believe it?) because some delivery guy had a EMS package for me-which is all good but what's up with their business hours? Can a girl get her beauty sleep?
Anyhow, that package was from Zen8tea and contained some very beautiful cups and the tiniest little porcelain pot. Lovely!
I made myself a large pot of Earl Grey for the first time in a looong while-the tea was OK but I usually add quite a large amount of milk and suddenly I didn't like it-it tasted sweet and strange and no matter how much more tea I poured into the cup to try and salvage it it didn't go away. Most odd.
Since then I've been finishing up a session of Rou Gui I began yesterday, continued with TGY and right now I'm having Ying De and my brewing must have hit some sort of sweet spot or something-it's really, really good. Even with milk.

I was out running an errand, and I can already see many changes in the short time I have been gone!
And as Geek said, it is nice to see some features back.
Very hot here today, but still I'm craving my next tea:
Tea Masters Baozhong

Made my first order of Matcha. I got Yuuki Midori and most of the accessories from Yuuki-Cha, while I got a really nice Chawan from Rikyu, which I am in love with. I wonder how long my Chawan will take. It's shipping via EMS, and it's leaving this Friday. Since I live in California maybe I'll get to see it on Monday.[/quote]
Rikyu was very quick when I ordered from them and even with standard shipping, it did not take long at all to receive my kyusu.
My tea is good today. I enjoyed some Earl Grey during work and am now about to brew some Yuuki-Yutaka from Yuuki-Cha, which has been delicious every other time that I have brewed so it should be just as wonderful now. And the quote doesn't work for me either.

So it seems some members got lost in the shuffle. If you hear about anyone who is having a problem logging in to TeaChat, please let me know. Thanks.
TD continued with Matcha with DW in a beautiful 30 year old Hagi chawan. Currently enjoying Yutaka Midori from O-Cha.

OHHHH! Forgot to mention that my special Teachat Hagi (offer #3) all arrived today! (well, actually yesterday, but nobody told me it was next door.) The yuza and houbin are wonderful just as expected, but I got quite the giggle out of the cups, they are so teeny tiny! They are like little doll cups! Cracks me up! I'll have to make a picture so you all can see the proportions, they should be just about right for poppets. :) (I love them!)

Great, can't wait to see the pics and poppets! I am curious if the cups are like my other gyo cups which actually work pretty nicely for gyo.GeekgirlUnveiled wrote:OHHHH! I am still awaiting the reorder.

Wow, the new setup is interesting. It feels *extremely* claustrophobic to me... I think because the margins might be narrower (?) but especially because the banner stays at the top. And I'm usually on a small laptop, so my view window is way cramped now.
In any case, busy day today, not much time for tea. Had one cup of oolong this morning, but that's it. *sigh*

Re: Wednesday Teaday 7/22/09 Better late than never?
I have been working my way through the Seven Cups rock oolong sampler. Had the Imperial Mei Zhan Light Roast today. It was great--a nice change after the growing monotony of caroby-roasty rock oolongs. It was caroby-roasty but not only that--had some unexpected fruitiness. At one point I got a tremendous whiff of tomato! Weird. Unexpected. I like it when tea surprises me like that.
Re: Wednesday Teaday 7/22/09 Better late than never?
OK, I'm coping reasonably well with the forum layout changes... seems it will be fine once the adjustment phase is over, and it looks as if there is still lots of tweaking going on. I appreciate the time and effort to make the forum better and more secure... even if the changes involve some growing pains.
Now let me rant about EMS... who apparently tried to deliver my Hagi stuffs yesterday but left me no "we were here" postcard (so I couldn't just go pick it up today). Naturally, I knew they would come again today during work hours... so I put this detailed note on my door with an alternate delivery address (my work, 2 blocks away) and my phone number. I got home, found the note still attached to the door, and a card in the mailbox saying "come pick up at Post Office". So, another day goes by... I will have it tomorrow, I should stop whining.
In my cup tonight was some Den's Tencha Kuki-Houjicha, sent as a freebie sample in a previous order. I must say, I will have to reconsider my opinion on roasted houjicha... I think maybe I haven't sampled enough of them yet. This one is really pretty good... much more "tea" flavor than others I have tried, with a nice toasty flavor that is not overpowering of the green goodness beneath the surface. Gonna go in for round 2 before I head to bed.

I always enjoy my tea. Even if it's not so great I still like making it and inspecting the leaves.
Had some Golden Monkey in the evening.
