Hmm I'm going to have to say its just the availability. I don't have any local vendors even remotely close to me (I believe the closes tea house is about an hour and a half away). So if I want good quality loose leaf tea, I have to order it online.

I order almost everything online too. I'm an expert at getting a great deal, with no sales tax and free shipping. But I make up for it when I order from Japan, being so impatient has its cost. I always use expedited delivery and then I am checking the delivery status every day.

In my work cup this morning - the last of my Li Shan from Floating Leaves Tea.

That's half the fun! Seeing where your tea is currently traveling. There are some states though, I worry when my tea passes through them.

Is that from Mariage Frères? I was checking that one out.
Thinking of maybe reordering the Saphir along with that one.

No from Palais des Thés. I haven't tasted their Keemun yet.

I enjoy the checking out of new tea. Considering where I live I don't have any good tea stores around and it's too pricey to visit NYC every time I want a new tea :P

Although drinking it is by far the best part :)

I love opening a package and checking out the new tea inside. Of course, I love drinking the tea too.

Currently sitting tea-less at school, exhausted after an early wake up, long drive, and some furniture rearranging once I got here. I thought ahead and brought plenty of tea and teaware (incl. my electric kettle) to make my week-long stay more enjoyable. Perhaps I will gather the energy to go brew some up shortly.

I agree with (nearly) everyone else; it's the shopping, for me. God knows how many hours I've wasted browsing the shops, finding new shops, researching teas etc etc.
Without online stores I'd have one paltry store to go to that would have real quality tea, and they carry only Chinese/Taiwanese tea. And without the net I wouldn't even have known it existed in the first place :o

The worst part of internet shopping? The ease with which it's done-click and it's yours >_<

I'm doing Golden Nepal today, exclusively.

Definitely the shopping. I love being able to browse and compare all the different vendors to see which can give me the best value for what I am looking for. It is great being able to read the descriptions on the different websites, check TeaChat to see if there are any reviews on the tea, find more vendors in the process, order from some place that I didn't quite expect to end up ordering from, and then get to compare notes with what other people after it finally arrives. I do thoroughly enjoy getting things delivered. I have a short enough memory that I purposely don't watch the tracking too closely so I get fun surprises showing up on my door step. They're like presents!

I think had some chestnut tea earlier. I was trying to get to work a few minutes early and only had time to brew one mug worth to bring with me, which was severely disappointing since I had to stay later than expected without any extra tea. I did end up trying a RTD Oolong from Wegmans today that was fantastic. It was unsweetened, and had a very natural oolong taste that reminded me of a mid-roasted Taiwanese oolong: lightly toasted and sweet, with hints of honey and delicate flowers. I was very impressed.

Finally checking in ... good question depravitea! I like to search and research, so the internet provides an excellent opp to do a lot of research before buying. But perhaps nothing beats opening the first new bag and the first brew, especially if this was in anticipation of Shincha!

Began the TD with Kawane shincha from Rishi. Next up, 88 Nights from Sugimota USA. Then some matcha. And finally Fuding Silver Needles from Rishi. Quite a great TD with DW.

And now, soggy leaf tea to hold me over til the new TD.

I would say all of the above.
