As for favorite food, hummm that would be tough. But whatever it is, it is definitely not homemade. Not by me anyway. I do a few things well, but I'm far from a chef.

Being in Southern CA there is much Mexican cuisine, and many favorites there, still I probably lean towards Italian. Then there is Korean too, hummm no, I can't decide. And now I'm starving!

In my cup this morning something quite different from Imperial Teas (UK)
As their site states: "Grown from the foot of Mt.Lavinia, Sri Lanka's highest point, up to the Rambodda Pass, Pedro is Ceylon's highest tea factory. This unusual and rare Ceylon is reminiscent of a good first flush Darjeeling with its yellow cup and fresh yet soft taste. The leaves are slightly open, well processed with portions of green leaf. A good example of Ceylon's potential to produce more complex charactered teas."

Very mild, quite a unique flavor!

Totally true, at the time I was writing about. Unfortunately long since gone, rural village houses, and inns muscled in on the trade, portions were reduced, prices went up and produce was outsourced. It is not my favourite food, it was at the time I answered the question one inviting reminiscence which came to mind. :D

Partly because I misread the question as Fave Food Teaday and thought I had to include tea with the meal.

I love food, and have over 500 Food / Cookery books. My 'favourite' would be the one I most looking forward to cooking or eating next. By the number of books in my collection I would have to say French is my favourite with over 70 books. My 'favourite' would invariably be accompanied by wine. After France come Spain and Mexico, so to pluck a dish that would be more familar to those of you across the 'big pond' I can recommend very highly recommend a recipe from Rick Bayless called 'Crema de Elote'.
use the soup as artist's palette for a half dozen garnishes like Roasted Red Pepper Rajas, Feta Cheese, Olives and Coriander it looks nearly as wonderful as it tastes. I cannot obtain the correct Mexican dairy product to finish the soup, so use French Creme Fraiche and it highlights the flavour of Sweetcorn and Roasted Onions superbly.

Since it's summer I would have to say fresh tomatoes from my garden. Since blight killed them all, it would be tomatoes from someone else's garden. As in fresh tomato and basil pizza, tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and EVOO, gazpacho, tomatoes with a little honey drizzled over, BLTs, you get the picture. Then there are berries and peaches - especially the little flat ones. Then there is Thai almost anything or really good Mexican. Forget it, the favorites list is disgustingly long

Even though I'm sad to hear about late-blight in the Northeast, I'm quite happy that I'm living here in Southern California, where I can still harvest fresh tomatoes from my yard, and be so close to the places that grow it :D

20th infusion of '09 Zhi Lan Xiang from Imen. I'm pushing this baby as far as it can go, and it's still going very strong (well, the tea is more fragrant and sweet then strong, but you get the picture)

20th, quite impressive as long as it is providing enjoyment for you!

Makinohara Fukamushi from Rishi currently with DW. I went with a higher temp (175*) in an unheated kyusu in order to shock the leaves a bit, worked very well, thank you.

I'm interested in ordering from Floating Leaves, and their 15% off sale has peaked my interest in doing so. Does anyone know if they carry roasted Baozhong?

Mmmm, it's summertime so I gotta say watermelon or sweet little grape tomatoes that my boss brings from his garden or anything grilled or fresh peaches or fresh plums or ....

And everything tastes better in the summertime with a big glass of iced tea!!!

I think I'll get a glass right now!

Seafood. Definitely seafood. I adore sushi, love a good, rare tuna steak, and any type of seafood on the grill makes me an incredibly happy person. Close second is fresh fruit. I've been enjoying blueberries lately while waiting for the apple harvest to begin later this month or next month. I am very much looking forward to fresh apples from the orchard.

Today was iced tea all day. At least what heat we have gotten this summer so far hasn't been too bad, but it is still hot enough to go through glass upon glass of iced tea.

Oh yeah, seared rare tuna steak rox my world, and really easy to prepare as long as you have a good piece of fresh tuna. I prepare it semi Japanese.

Sushi is near the top of the list for me as well, have you tried sashimi?

Fresh fruit, love CHERRIES. And most any fruit really. Incorporating fruit into a dish is pretty fun.

Finished the TD off with Maeda-en Gyokuro prepared in a new/very old Bizen "yohen" Houjin. This was verrry good. Not sure if I figured out the Gyo or the Bizen was working into the equation, but it was "fantabulous."

Hmmm... Fage Greek Yogurt is a current favorite. They have an offering with 0% fat, an entire tub (2 servings) has 240 calories, and it tastes creamy and rich like sour cream. With fresh berries it is heaven in a bowl.

I've driven over 800 miles in the last 24 hours and my first tea of the day was Takumi, which I drank a quarter till midnight.

Like Maitre_Tea and Drax I've been having a lot of tomatoes lately. I just slice them up and sprinkle some salt on them though. So simple and tasty.

My favourite dish has for quite some time been my pasta with peas and cream/egg/parmesan; cook pasta + peas, drain and pour some 40% fat cream over, with an egg and some cheese and stir over really low heat so the egg doesn't go to hard. I usually add a few drops of tabasco or have kimchi on the side, goes really well with the mild creamy taste of the main dish. =)

Genmaicha or tie guan yin to drink with it.
