Except for a modest tray that has a selection of small teapots and cups, you might suspect a tea-related interest, but only if the visitor was familiar with tea culture. My selection was 'maybe'.

The antique wash stand (where one used to keep basin, jug and towels in a bedroom about 100 yrs ago) this tray sits on has a few more pots in boxes, and tea-making accessories, stashed out of sight.

*laughter* You would know for sure once you opened up the tea cupboard in the kitchen.

They would be able to see I was into tea, however they wouldn't really see the obsession until they went into my room where i keep my books and of course, the pu closet! I had a girl over once, whom i was dating, there was an Art of Tea mag out, it led to an interesting conversation. hahaa

They would know only if they knew what all the gaiwans and pots in the kitchen were for. :P

WELLLLL.........Hahahahahahaha its a little bit too obvious!!!!! I have tea in the fridge, tea on my desk, tea in my closet, tea stored in the kitchen, tea pots sitting around, multiple empty cups, tea in my bathroom (SIKE!), Plus I go freaking crazy when I get a cup of masala chai!!! Tea kettle is whistling alllll the time ;) I guess its very obvious, just like the fact that I am a nut in many other thing-a-roo's too!

Getting a new roommate today, pretty sure we will scare him off within two days. Prayer alarms, singing about masala chai, random yelling and cow noises...,music blasting, then dead silence, then BAM tea time!!! Plus random philosophical arguments, or other areas like geology(Arguing who has cooler rocks ;) jk ) We shall see

Having a cup of Castleton moonlight-->yummy yummy! Next will probably be some Zencha takumi...then who knows???

I keep it all under wraps pretty much (which is easy when you don't have a lot of teaware, just a lot of tea). They'd only know if they opened up my tea drawer (yes, I have a whole drawer of it) and saw my entire stash! :D

I live with my wife in an apartment that is basically just one room, and my coffie table has on it a kamjove kettle, a thermometer and waterbowls for gong fu sessions. So yeah, it's pretty obvious that a tea nut lives here.

Going to start a Pu-ehr session in a bit.

Wow, Sal, this image... stunning, the comp, the light and color. Love it!

You might be able to tell in my house, in the kitchen there are a few things here and there. In my home office, that is where all the teaware lives, all on display on bookshelfs. There's quite a bit to see, and definitely would be obvious then.

I don't think my tea nut-hood is instantly obvious... but I do think someone can rather easily figure it out without much effort.

Most of my tea is helf in my office, not in the kitchen or anywhere standard. But the other tea gadgets such as infusers, teaware and kettles/brewers should be obvious hints at an underlying obsession.

Then again, anyone who knows me, knows I'm a tea-nut. ;-)

In my cup this day: Darjeeling from Harney & Sons. A delicious blend of FF and Autumnal. Very easy to drink.

They usually can't tell, because most of my tea-ware is locked away in my closet (my grandmother accidentally used my yancha teapo for rolled Oolong), but I usually serve tea to guests (very Chinese) and once I do that, they can tell...they see how serious I am with my scale and painstakingly adherence to brewing tea Gong Fu style.

fairly obvious if someone actually looked in my kitchen cupboards..which is easy since they have glass doors..and sitting behind one whole section are my tea tins and tea warez

Once anyone stepped into the kitchen of my house they'd know for sure. The plate display shelves are instead lined with empty tea canisters (it's a collection) and the drain board usually has a teapot on it. Opening one cabinet would show the other pots and tins of tea.

Gorgeous photo, Salsero!

Oh yes. People generally enter our house through the kitchen, where I have staked out a corner of the wooden butcher block table that we use as an island for my tea stuff. The Zoji is on prominent display along with whatever pots I have been using the most and a few tea cups. More often than not, there are generally a few tins of tea sitting nearby. If you go into the dining room, there is more tea ware sitting on top of my three drawer cart of tea. It makes for interesting dinner conversations when people come over. If you open the fridge, at the moment there are two three-liter pitchers of iced tea (one slightly sweetened, one unsweetened) and at least two smaller refillable bottles of tea. If all that doesn't give it away, then most of the time, I have a cup of tea that gets carried with me where ever I go throughout the house. I don't really care all that much for subtlety.

Yet another day of all cold tea, all day. Need more cooler weather so I can just enjoy a nice, hot cup somewhere beyond the air conditioned office.
