One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

Hi LP, if you live in China, then that price gives you already good young raw puerh. We're probably paying almost double amount of that price (westener's price) for the same cake out here. Can't really compare it fairly, though

lbp,

i have bought cakes for more than $25 usd each, trust me on this, and so have others on this forum.

concerning your potential purchase at yunnan colourful, it's just so cheesy how their site looks. also, there is absolutely nothing on that page that tells you anything about that cake that makes sense. other more reliable on line tea sellers will have proper photos of the cake in question and other useful descriptions of the cake, unlike yunnan colourful.

out of the many many other online sellers of pu erh tea, i don't understand why you are even interested in buying this cake. there are other ones out there that are so much better and cheaper.

buy from established companies like haiwan, mengku shuangjiang, cnnp, etc...........

I think they have limitation in linguistic ability and therefore the description of the item is rather "off".
I found these kind of problems also among international students. They do more, get more results, but unable to sell it well in other language than their own mother tongue.
So there might be a reason why they don't try to describe it more clearly, the more they do, the less understandable is the content. But I don't understand why they don't put the photo of the cake though. I would appreciate these people for their effort and courage to speak, write and sell stuffs in languages they aren't familiar with. I see they care very much about their reputation, so one should get more information if he/she contacts them rather than speculating about it.

COLORFUL AND BEAUTIFUL!
wtf man? you high? what exactly are you trying to say?
LBP. This is a joke, can't you see? If anyone is not high, you would'nt buy this 'Expensive' cake just to paid for their 'Colorful' and 'Beautiful' advertising. BTW, any puerh comes with bell and whistle packaging like "Colorful" should be avoided.... what kind of Walmart tea are these anyway.

This link show you the picture of the cake and the price they sell in China.

They inflated the price by at least 2.5 times!

Here another link for other products from the same company:

I accept that they have to make a profit at the end of the day, however, they are base in China and the price are inflated by very high margin before the shipping cost. If you compare the price in DTH or YSS, even with top end of the market, they don't inflated by that much.

I only expect this kind of pricing in UK, almost everything they sell is day light robbery in UK. :(

I think your just trying to start a fight. You asked us what we thought of the cake, and everyone said they didn't try it... the reason they didn't even think to try it is because of the fishy description, and the price seemed way to high for a cake of its age. Then you try and tell us we know nothing, and all the cakes we drink are "cheap" note not inexpensive but cheap, and yes those two words mean different things... cheap often implies low quality.

Now when we tell you that for a tea that is still in china, the price is incredibly inflated based off of the same cake found for sale elsewhere in China, you try and insult our intelligence again by insinuating that we don't even know where teas are grown?

And we all respect making a profit, but there is a difference between turning a profit, and price gouging.

I'm sad to see all theses bad comments concerning Yunnan Colorful.

I am a regular customer of their store and compare to many other store they are doing a great job.

Okay maybe they have linguistic limitations they try their best and they post many pictures of each products.

This one is an exeption, maybe because they don't want to open one, maybe they don't have many or maybe they don't want to waste money opening one.

Honestly I would not buy this one at this price without proper pictures and description.

I bought some cakes and all kind of tea and teaware to them and they do well.

to reply to the question of your topic, my favorite tea cake I got from them is a sheng made with leafs from Yi Wu, here are proper pictures they sent me:

They have great communication, If you have skype, you can add them and I'm sure they can recommend you a good bing cha or maybe send you pictures and description of the tea you are looking for.

Here is their skype: yunnan-colorful :)
