I make my tea first, but usually eat while it's being made... but I guess the important thing is I go for the kettle before anything.

d) Depends.
Some days I don't eat breakfast or drink tea in the morning. So I'm going to say it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. This morning a Xia Guan FT Xi Zi Tuo Cha 2008.

I voted both but what I actually do is brew my tea while making my breakfast, and I usually drink the tea after I'm done eating. Tea does not agree with my empty stomach!
More of that tasty Japanese black this morning, after an English muffin with tomato and mozzarella cheese on top.

Ohhh I'm glad you are enjoying it! Brewing some CS Baozhong here at work at the moment and wondering if I might just save my bagel for lunch.geeber1 wrote:More of that tasty Japanese black this morning, after an English muffin with tomato and mozzarella cheese on top.

I almost always start the day with food. Tea comes later, when hunger is out of the way and I can enjoy the taste of the tea as purely as possible.
Nothing in my cup yet, but I'll be probably go for some Darjeeling First Flush before long.

I start a cup of tea steeping while I make breakfast, so tea is technically first for me.
Darjeeling today.

Reach for the kettle first thing each morning and ponder tea and breakfast choices, in that order.
Tiger Hill estate Nilgiri tea to start this morning. Made up estate Assam for iced tea later on, since I'm running low on Ceylon and I had iced Keemun yesterday. We're back to furnace-like temps for the next few days.
Sencha later on probably.

Tea comes first almost always. If anything, I might eat a light item if I am starving.
Began the TD with a blend of 88 Nights (last of it) and Yutaka Midori. This was actually very good. SweeTea was front and center as usual while Lili and Wulong were checking things out.

Me too! I can handle tea on an empty stomach, but I'm usually ravenous when I wake up and can't wait to eat.geeber1 wrote:I voted both but what I actually do is brew my tea while making my breakfast, and I usually drink the tea after I'm done eating.
Woke up with a generic Yunnan black this morning. I really must re-stock some Assams.

Tea first, while I'm getting breakfast ready. This a.m. Young Hyson. Followed by Super sweet organic peaches sauteed in brown sugar and vanilla, and cooked into my morning oatmeal.

That sounds like a great start to the day. You certainly won't lack energychefmike wrote: Followed by Super sweet organic peaches sauteed in brown sugar and vanilla, and cooked into my morning oatmeal.

Wow, haven't posted in awhile.. a busy bee I have been.
I always crave a cup of strong black tea after I wake up. So usually it's tea first or tea with my breakfast/brunch. My SO is from Ireland so when I'm at his place there's always a cup of tea in front of us before we even think about eating.
Keemun encore in my cup right now. Delicious.

Tea!
This morning I started with a few infusions of a West Lake Dragon Well. I switched to Yerbe Mate for the middle of the day.

Next up ... Den's Kunpu asamushi shincha, leftover from a tasting. This is worthy of royalty.
