Hard to say which I prefer, depends on what I'm brewing.
Glass maybe wins, because of seeing the beautiful tea.
But I love my clay pots too. Porcelain is probably third.

Started my day with Saphir Himalaya Spring flush 2009. I just
adore this tea.

I have a preference for glass...it might be technically suboptimal for a lot of the tea I drink but there's magic in watching the leaves open up into the water.

Couldn't pin it down to just one. I love porcelain, also clay, and stoneware, and tetsubin, and glass... Nope, not choosing.

The teacup is by our very own M. Coffee (shyrabbit.) I'll post photos of the other cup in my photo thread. Gorgeous stuff. He had some things on auction at ebay, and I forgot the end of the auction, and missed out on both teabowls I wanted to bid on, but was fortunately in time for these cups. I love them!

Can't pick just one...love them all!

This morning I shared specialteas House Blend Assam with my DH and son. This was a new Assam for me. The leaf before brewing is nice with lots of golden tips and smells divine. It brewed up to a nice color, but I didn't get any flavor at all...I brewed it for only 3 minutes; thinking it was going to have a really strong flavor. I will try a longer brew next time, since I know there must be flavor in there! Of course DH and son liked it just fine since they both add enough sweetener till they can't taste the tea anyway

Right now I'm having specialteas Tung Ting Jade. I had forgotten I had this tea until I was putting in an order the other day. I really like it a lot, but since I usually do a Japanese green in the afternoon, I tend to forget about it. I have not tried a lot of oolongs, but I did compare this one to teasource's Tung Ting. I really wanted to like teasource's Tung Ting (it is much less expensive), but that tea had an aroma that made it undrinkable (to me).

I'm going to have to say No, I do not think so. I currently own some form of teaware of every category except metal unless you consider a strainer teaware.

Great cup Geek, along with your others by our shyrabbit. This one has such an organic look to it.

Drinking some sort of Darjeeing in clay pot at stupid o'clock in the morning, well It's pretty much hot water I'm drinking now.

No preference really. They all have their virtues for brewing, but it is tough to prefer one over the other when there are so many different types of tea that tastes better with different materials.

I enjoyed some Organic Monk's Blend this morning followed by a lovely cold brewed sencha blend.

In my cup this day: Pumpkin Spice Chai from Townshend's.

Mmm. I just had my first taste of Hibiki-an's Tencha.

The leaves are chopped rather than rolled and the brewed liquor looks like gyokuro only lighter in color and weight. My first sniff gave me the impression of slightly seared tournedos (beef filets), potatoes and asparagus. The taste is similar to gyo but lighter on the tongue.

I brewed it following instructions from Atsushi Yasui of Hibiki-an,
``Tencha: 2cups
- Tea leaves: 3 tablespoons (7 - 8g)
- Water temperature: 140 - 158F (60 - 70C)
- Amount of water: 200ml (7.04fl oz)
- Waiting time: 1 1/2 - 2min.''

I put 4 grams into 3 ozs at 140F for 90 seconds, but I do prefer my Japanese greens cooked at lower temps.

This is definitely worth a taste if you get the chance.
