Re: Puerh storage dilemma!
Thanks, these are are good things to know. I live in a climate(American midwest) that tends to fluctuate with the seasons, very hot and humid in the summer and dry and cold in the winter. I live in a very old house(c. 1890's) which can tend to be very drafty and cold in the winter, so not sure what I will do then. I guess they will just age slower during that period. Here are some images for now! As you can see all I have to do is add another board across to stack more.

Yes, I need to get a hydrometer definitely. I have to figure out a good place to get one. Although the internet is as good a place as any. I have also heard that mixing shengs and shous in storage is not a good idea, is this true? Although I guess shous have already technically been "aged" by the processes it has been subjected to anyway?

Re: Puerh storage dilemma!
If you have a good cigar shop around, that's the first place to start. I was going to ask you about mixing your Pu-erh together. It's a good idea to keep them apart. If have to, use a cardboard storage box. Your doing good so far.android73 wrote:Yes, I need to get a hydrometer definitely. I have to figure out a good place to get one. What's also good about those storage boxes is that it has holes on the sides for handles so you can get good air circulation.

At my old house, about 4 miles from the ocean or less... at my current place a little farther.808Hawaiian59 wrote: I can see your point but you have to also take account on the area you live. Los Angeles is pretty dry but look how far you are from the ocean. I live on an island that is surrounded by water and when it get up to 70%-75% humidity it gets nasty.

Again, this is all relative to where you live.wyardley wrote:At my old house, about 4 miles from the ocean or less... at my current place a little farther.808Hawaiian59 wrote: I can see your point but you have to also take account on the area you live.
