I voted clay because Im liking the hagi so much right now.
finally had some tea around noon, earl grey cream.

Pretty much even between clay and porcelain. With Hagiware probably winning and being most used. I do prefer clay but I don't drink my morning black teas in anything but porcelain because of potential staining. I use both clay and porcelain daily.
In my cup this morning was Neela from Tao of Tea.
Currently getting ready to brew some DaYuLing from Floating leaves tea.
Have a nice day everyone!

I have no real preference in material; it all depends on my mood, but lately I frequently use the cup my ceramist of a best friend made in exchange for me knitting her socks.

I really like clay teaware, the lightness and character and variety, especially in the morning. In the evening I gravitate to my stoneware with its heft, maybe looking for a center of gravity after a scattered day at work. These would be my choices for Japanese teas. I think of porcelain for Chinese teas, mostly because I match porcelain cups with my gaiwan, not having graduated to yixing pottery and teapots.
I have read that with clay teaware, however, one needs to boil it for 20 minutes in a pan of water to sterilize and increase the resistance to heat. Does any one else do this? I found it a little intimidating watching my new yunomi dance around a water filled pan emitting tiny bubbles.
This afternoon Kagoshima Sencha Sae Midori in a Mogake nagayunomi by Hokujo, countering the effects of shrimp fried rice from a local Korean / Chinese 'hole in the wall' just down the road. Tonight plans for another attempt at Uji Gyokuro "Kame-Jiru-Shi"!

I'm partial to white porcelain, the thinner the better.

Porcelain gets by far the most use.
Long day today. I've had one cup of tea, I asked for a white coffee in the hairdressers and they brought me a white tea instead. At the very least it's nice to be reminded just how good my tea is.
Currently drinking merlot
*edit: white tea as in cheapest black teabag on the planet with something vaguely resembling milk added - not a nice porcelain cup of fragrant bai mu dan

I am incredibly fond of unique cups that are handmade by artisan potters as opposed to those that are mass produced. It makes the cup so much more special to know that it is one of a kind. It doesn't necessarily enhance the taste of the tea, but it makes the experience of drinking a cup of tea more enjoyable for me.
Currently enjoying a wonderful glass of iced tea.

I went with porcelain, because I use it often, however, I've been doing a lot of glass brewing lately, so I guess that is pretty high on my list as well.
