Thanks BLarson. It has been a stressful few days. I did not really want to say anything til now, but my mother had surgery today, just came out ... so feeling a good bit of relief since she is 82. The surgery if it went perfectly was expected to last 3 hours, it was 2:55 minutes, so I am thinking that is a pretty good sign.

Celebrating with some Yutaka Midori from O-Cha.

I broke open my Zencha ultimate shincha after supper tonight and brewed it my Hokujo kyusu. I have found that I have to use less leaf and brew for a shorter time when I use the Hokujo. I brewed 10 grams in 9ounces of water at 140F for 40 seconds and it `still' slightly overdone. It's delicious though.

Who knows what will be brewing later on???

Yes +1 on prayers for your Mom, Chip.

In my cup this afternoon a sample TKY, it was one of those small unmarked vacuum bags - one serving. Actually pretty tasty!

Geeber, you look like your old self again!!

Thoughts are with you and your family Chip.

I'm not sure about a favourite tea this month but I got about 30 or samples of black/red tea and have been working through them this month, so that gets my vote. Who new Bolivia made decent tea, not me.

Chip, I hope your mother has a swift recovery and my thoughts go out to your family.

Favorite tea for this month was definitely a black. I am not sure which black, but it was definitely a black tea. For some odd reason, I've been on a strong, black tea kick for the past few weeks. Most likely the favorite tea for August was the Organic Monk's Blend from the New Mexico Tea Co, as I finally gave in and ordered a half pound of that one a few weeks ago. I had also picked up a really awesome Assam and some great Irish Breakfast so I now have enough black tea to last me for a good while.

Contrary to what is posted above for favorites, my cup currently contains a Japanese green, Yuuki Yutaka.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and PMs! She is doing well despite a lot of pain, but has one of those morphine buttons. 8)

Finishing up the TeaDay with Adagio Ali Shan. I like!

Greens in general were my fave this month, and seem to becoming my fave in general.
Can't wait for Adagio's Genmai Cha! Restock date keeps getting pushed back :( Not complaining, I understand it's dependent on the source, just very interested in trying it!
I MUST HAVE IT!
Or ... you can make your own, we have several topics on the subject, now if only the search was working. I will look for them.
