The cooler Connecticut weather usually has me reaching for fuller bodied teas, but I can't give up my sencha.

Hope everyone is having a good TeaDay so far!

I notice that I do enjoy black teas more during fall and winter. They will not replace greens, but currently I have no loose leaf black tea in the cabinet. Once I figure out a tea budget I will plan to order some black teas to suit my winter tastes.

There are some changes as first harvest season is over, but no big changes.

No tea today.

With cooler temperatures comes more frequent tea breaks. I drink more, not differently.

Tea today has been limited to my morning black and a mystery oolong I found stashed in a sampler tin in my cupboard. I think it was a lightly roasted TGY. It was pretty good, anyway. Smelled faintly of honey and flowers.

No CHANGE!!! Possibly some new teas though, since I am pretty much out of everything and gave away some. Maybe some different blacks and greens! weeeeee

Kinda a rough day today, amateur mapping in field methods and a funky fluid mechanics test, was really out of it during it...missed my morning tea :( ahhhhhhhh! Got me some lunch now, tea and studying next!!! I'm reaching for the thurbo with milk and sugar again, not as good as the other darjeelings I've had so far.

Probably wont be much of a change due to seasons. The only change is that I will eventually run out of green and oolong and have to drink some black and white teas.

No tea today, maybe some long jing after I type this.

Not much of a change. I'll still be drinking hot tea in the morning and iced tea with dinner.

Finished the TeaDay with Hibiki-an Tencha. This tea is definitely worth tasting. I searched TeaChat for references to Hibiki-an's tencha and was surprised that it received lukewarm reviews. Then again, I haven't seen anyone besides me comment on it this year. Have you ever had tournedos of beef at a good French restaurant? Imagine the scent of the seared beef mingled with the aroma of potato and grilled asparagus -- this is the image that this tea bring to my mind. And it has umami++.

Good night folks.

Blarson, I just saw this post on the Tencha and had to chime in very quickly. I received a sample of the Tencha last year. I had thought of the less classy french fry rather than tournedos of beef, however I'm glad I wasn't completely crazy to think of potatoes.
I also had a lot of trouble brewing it right, seems a bit picky. I liked it when brewed right though, very distinctive.

Hi Jazz!

Welcome to TeaChat.

Mr Yasui at Hibiki-an emailed brewing instructions to me for their tencha and karigane matcha, so I didn't have to experiment at all.

I can see french fries, but they'd have to be really good fries!
