Yeah, I can quit anytime!
I recently tried a Hunan Black from TeaSource that's good. And I've been slowly working my way through the samples I kept from the Oolong box. Also a good Darjeeling and AliShan from Ms. Victoria.
Nilgiri Glendale Handmade this morning, and generic iced tea right now.

Yep, I tried some new teas when Floating Leaves Tea (FLT) had their recent sale. I ordered Li shan A 2008 (my fav of the three) and Da Yu Ling and got a free sample of Li shan 2009. I like all three...and all are leaps and bounds above the Tung Ting that I had been drinking from elsewhere.
This morning Ceylon and Assam mixed...nothing special...I've got what I hope are a couple of good blacks on the way. This afternoon mmmmatcha was just the best. Since I just wrote about oolong, I may have to have some now!
Have fun,
Dreamer

Nothing new of late; I've got at least a couple months' worth of leaf in stock at the moment and need to concentrate on enjoying that while it's still fresh.
DaZhang Mtn. eyebrow tea earlier this afternoon, from TwoHills. I paid closer attention to brewing parameters than I often do at work and couldn't believe how good it tasted. I think I may have actually purred a bit in the privacy of my office. Some of the abovementioned stock is going to get depleted very shortly for my evening cup, but I haven't decided yet what that will be--possibly some ali shan?

Not a new tea, but definitely one I recommend.
Chip, why don't ya just put a big O-Cha ad banner in your sig and get it over with.

Ummm, Ed, yesterday at least 3 vendors were mentioned by me in TD, and with this post, again at least 3 today. Saturday, only Zencha. I rest my case .................
The TD continued with Zencha Fuji Super Premium which again lived up to its name.
Finally, in preparation for a tasting, final trial of Zuiko from Den's, perhaps the best asamushi I have had this year?

This statement is clearly in violation of O-Cha Rules.

I meant to post this yesterday, but managed to get completely distracted and forgot. The other day, I had a really bad tea craving at work and had run out of the loose leaf mediocre green that I kept in my drawer. I somehow ended up at Wegmans and picked up a bag of their Ti Quan Yin (4oz of $8.99). Surprisingly, it is very good for the price. It is obviously not the best and most complex oolong out there, but it brews easily and has a rather pleasant, lightly toasted, sweet, green floral taste. It was an exciting discovery.

Chip, don't you know you need Ed's approval before liking a green tea?

Y'all got regional grocery stores back east that sell TGY by the bag????
*reality tilts dangerously for a moment*
Only in NuuuYawwwk could this retail miracle happen. Oiy vay!
Getting down the broken dregs of my Nilgiri White tea. Still satisfying.
*squint*
Kevin must be bored in O-Cha-Land.

Wegman's is amazing. They have everything! My wife and I were in the Wegman's in Henrietta NY discussing where to find an alarm clock for our son when a little man with a headset and a transmitter stepped around a corner and asked `are you looking for something?' We told him, then he spoke into the headset, got a response, and told us where to find the alarm clocks. They had only one and it was exactly where he said it would be. Wegman's has achieved near-mythological status with our family.

Indeed! Wegman's is planning to open a store ten miles from where I live within a couple of years.

Wegmans is the best grocery store ever. They sell Sencha, Dragonwell, English Breakfast, Lapsang Souchong, Decaf Earl Grey, Rooibos, and Silver Needle as well as the TGY all as Wegmans Brand Loose Leaf Teas. They also had a lavender sencha that got turned into a delicious smelling sachet for my sock drawer since it smelled so much better than it tasted.
The main Wegmans in Fairport, NY or some place near there, actually has a loose leaf tea bar stocked with Rishi. They brew in an infuser basket and use a timer. It's rather impressive for a grocery store.

The semi local Wegmans here also has a large selection of looseleaf and teabags. Rishi and a few Adagio products were the most noteworthy.
