Re: Thursday TeaDay 10/29/09 Vendor vendor vendor?
For me, just two main suppliers:
-Adagio- where I get all of my loose leaf teas,
-Traditional Medicinals- They have really great bagged blends with herbs and spices with medicinal properties. Their "Throat coat" is fantastically tasty! They have a large variety, too. Recently I've seen grocery store carrying this brand, where it used to be sold only in health food stores, or online.
Once I put a dent in the stash that I have right now, I will probably refer back to this thread for more vendor ideas.

Re: Thursday TeaDay 10/29/09 Vendor vendor vendor?
I picked six:
O-cha (Oh yeah!)
SpecialTeas
TeaSource
Tao of Tea
Floating Leaves Tea
Adagio
Today so far..at breakfast a half and half blend of Kenilworth and Assam...it produced a beautiful red cup of tea that actually tasted pretty good...neither of these particular packages of tea have "done it" for me, so this combo was a "good thing". At work my tea buddy brewed up a loose leaf black currant...the base tea is so bitter and mean that I couldn't drink it. This afternoon I'm having some stale-ish YM sincha (found a little tin I'd forgotten about). It is tasting pretty good to me...in fact, it is time for the 2nd steep.

Re: Thursday TeaDay 10/29/09 Vendor vendor vendor?
currently in my home - excluding herbal tea - I have teas from:
Imperial Tea Court
Cha Ma Gu Dao
Red Circle Tea
The Tea Gallery
Tillerman Tea
Harney & Son
Om Shan Tea
Adagio
Peonia Tea House
and I can't remember who else.
I try all kinds of tea, and I'll buy from anyone who has a good tasting tea. I'm always open for more. The only reason I don't order from more vendors that I know I would trust is because I am spoiled by having been able to buy teas in person at a shop. There are at least four online vendors I haven't yet ordered from that I know I would trust sight unseen and tea untasted.

This is a thread with some interesting leads. I will probably try some new vendors now that I've read this. My vendor list is:
seven cups
camellia sinensis

Re: Thursday TeaDay 10/29/09 Vendor vendor vendor?
According my notes, most of my current tea stash is from 4 vendors and a few other places that aren't really tea vendors.
Lochan Tea (all the samples from the Facebook tasting party)
New Mexico Tea Company (Blood Orange Rooibos, Orange Blossom Oolong, Earl Grey and Organic Monk's Blend)
Adagio (Chestnut and a few random sample tins)
Yuuki-Cha (two senchas and one gyokuro sitting in a small fridge)
I have one bag of oolong from Wegmans in my desk drawer at work and a bunch of green teas that my father brought back from Japan.
Currently in my cup is my favorite red wine blend from a Finger Lakes Winery called Thirsty Owl. There might be some tea later, most likely houjicha.
