Gyokuro is prime during the whole year!
Hard to argue with that ... I guess it is more of a matter of sencha being a higher priority from April-November or so for me ... for obvious reasons. From Shincha til the advent of Winter, Sencha is where it is at for me. Everything else is second fiddle.

And speaking of sencha (sort of), Kabuse from O-Cha to begin the TD. SweeTea was there for her fair share while Wulong and Pyrit must have be waiting for Gyokuro ...

Speaking of Yame ... moved on to a tasting of Den's Yame Sencha. Great sencha.

It has changing a bit for me. I have started to drink more chai's and other more robust teas to help warm me up during these cold days here in Chicago.

The type of tea isn't changing, but I'm trying to shift to drinking more often. Of course, my job is interfering with that. Hrm.

Gonna snuggle up with some rock oolong this evening... at least, I hope.

They've maybe altered slightly as I do find myself wanting to drink Russian Caravan and other smokey or spicy teas more than usual. Plus a lot of my green/white teas just seem too 'light' right now, although that might just be because I need teas with a huge caffeine boost to get me through the school semester.

Right now, however, I'm drinking Yogi Tea's Egyptian Licorice mostly because I have a slightly sore throat.

Just this morning I tried a sample of Bohea (Limited Edition from Tao of Tea) that GeekGirl sent me in a swap (Thanks, GG) and, coincidentally, Victoria recommended recently. I enjoyed it greatly. This tea has a smokey aroma, but doesn't have a strong smokey flavor. The weather here today popped up unseasonably warm, so we had breakfast in the sunshine on the deck. I said "oh, this tea will be perfect for wintertime". (Too bad it looks like they are almost out as they only have 1 ounce sample tins :( )

I just tend to want to drink more of any/all hot tea in the colder weather and at some point I won't drink any more iced tea till spring. Hot tea and snuggly sweaters are the only parts of winter that I really look forward to.

Warmly,
Dreamer
