I'm not sure, but I think those are the same ones rishi sells. They look the same, and the ones I checked have the same volume as the same style at rishi. Rishi is a few dollars more expensive, but might be cheaper once you factor in shipping.
Edit: The site you mentioned appears to have a better selection though, so its worth checking out if someone is looking for a specific combination of size, style, and clay.
Re: Cheap Zhu Ni teapots?
I asked the shop owner about authenticity of their Zhu Ni clay and got their answer today:
Anyone wants to comment on this?Zhu Ni clay is not rare in YiXing. Di Cao Qing clay is comparatively rare in YiXing. Di Cao Xing is the clay from the deep layer. And the mine for Di Cao Qing has been prohibited. But even Di Cao Qing clay is not rare in market. Masters like to use Di Cao Qing to make teapot fully by hands. So I can make sure the teapot you mentioned is made of Zhu Ni without synthetic pigments. It's cheap due to it's not made fully by hands.

Hi, Margules, are you replying to me or to odarwin ?Margules wrote:I'm not sure, but I think those are the same ones rishi sells. odwarwin. I haven't actually seen the ones you mentioned, since Chip removed the direct link, and I can't really navigate the website due to my inability to read Chinese.
Another Edit: I just found the English version of the website. I'll take a look around. I don't really know much about Yixing though, so I doubt I'll be able to answer any of your questions.

Re: Cheap Zhu Ni teapots?
No, you don't judge Zhuni by price, Yixing clay, price is little (very little exception tho)
Price is added by hand-made/tool-using and mostly, fame of master
So the importance lies on how you catch the originality or how you find someone who catches
Original Zhuni however, because it shrinks horribly, so 1/2 bursts in a kiln, so do the math, twice higher than Zini (price)..

Re: Cheap Zhu Ni teapots?
yes, these pots are the ones that apparently rishi also sells, and also tea masters, according to a friend. i never buy from rishi cause im in asia, and i have someone that can buy for me from the mainland.
as i have said, i cant comment much about the quality of clay and workmanship, but a friend is always saying good things about the brand and said that those are the best pots he got among all the pots he got. once i get it, ill post some pics.

I've heard the same thing too (about Tea Masters and Rishi sourcing their stuff from here).
Re: Cheap Zhu Ni teapots?
Warm welcome to a fellow Israeli tea drinker (yes, I am also from Israel). One of the forum members happen to be a daughter of an Yixing master and they have two half-handmade ZhuNi pots available - one is a lixing, the other is shui ping shape:

http://www.zishateapot.co.uk/chinese-yi ... p-123.html
Their site only works reliably under Internet Explorer.
I have ordered a dicao qing teapot from them and I am quite happy with it. I have posted it's photos here, but you can see it in person if we live not too far from each other.

Re: Cheap Zhu Ni teapots?
Hello, dangert, and thank you for the shop links. I tried to open them using MS IE, but got an error (404, page not found). If I write the hostname in IE address bar, I can only see "pageok Directory Size: 17559" message instead of the main shop page.
BTW, I ordered one teapot from the shop mentioned in the first message of tread. Hope I will like it
