Began the TD with a trial of Kabuse organic, also from O-Cha ... this might be the tea of the month for February. SweeTea approved this mornings brew while Pyrit stopped by the TeaTable for treats.

Re: Monday TeaDay 2/01/10 Fave tea for January?
Hmmm, wonder what I voted for???
Green it is of Japanese origin! The tea? I am going to call it Organic Warashina Supreme from O-Cha, really liked this nicely complex organic. If you want try a very nice Asamushi type organic, you should give this one a shot!

Mine was a white peony. I started drinking it the last few days of the month but it was still the favorite for this month!! So good. This was the first time I didn't drink a fruity flavored white tea. And I don't feel like doing it again. Ever.

I think you may be my long-lost twin. Do you have a birthmark in the shape of a tea leaf, by any chance?Jasmin wrote:Mine was a white peony. I'll have to go with Castleton Estate Darjeeling, 2nd flush Muscatel.

Oolong: FLT Baozhong Hon. Mention. YUMMY.
One small problem today, I keep forgetting my tea is steeping. My Pi Xiu tea beast has received many "offerings" of over-steeped tea.

Wow, great dragon gaiwan, Geek. Thanks for adding color to our TeaDay!
TD continued with a tasting of Zencha Fuga LE w/ Mrs. Chip. A great TD, but again only 2 teas, I hope this is not a trend!!!!
Well, mugi/genmai currently but that is not tea ...

And for the rest of my TD: this afternoon had some Darjeeling, and mixed some peach & vanilla oolong for post-dinner tea.

Really surprised to see Japanese greens as the top choice for January. They are such a summer tea for me, though that could explain it as well---reminders of fresh cut grass and fruit to get you through the cold winter months. I did break my own tradition and had a nice matcha the other day that I really enjoyed, for just those reasons.
