I think tea is habit forming, but not addicting.
Incidentally, I used to be a caffeine junkie, complete with withdrawal headaches if I went without soda after periods of especially high consumption. Cutting back on my soda habit hurt. I've never had this problem with tea!
Brewing casually today with a Koryo teacup and some home-roasted Fujian oolong from BirdPick.

Damn right its addicting
and habit forming for that matter
I don't get withdraws without it, but tea is just such a great way to hydrate yourself because the taste spectrum is so vast and pleasant
yeah its good for you too so nothing wrong with a healthy habit
I also think tea is great because it is a cross cultural drink, I can close my eyes, drink some tea from a different country, and pretend I am there in my head

Yes, yes, yes, and yes.
I think tea (or more precisely certain components in tea) can be addicting ... and to a degree I sometimes feel some addiction in that if I miss morning tea I will likely have a slight headache. When I used to drink much more tea, more severe headaches would result.
Definitely habit forming, more so than addicting. It is a habit for me ... again to a degree.
Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. Then a pot of Genmaicha at the sushi bar with Mrs. Chip. Next up, a tasting of Zencha Fuji SP.

I know for sure its habit forming but for me its not addicting. Caffeine can be a serious problem for many people but for some reason I don't have a problem going days without it. I even drink coffee sometimes and still don't notice any effect when I don't have tea or coffee. As far as being habit forming it is for me, I really don't like to miss my tea whether its morning evening or night tea I always want it.

I had to say yes to addicting and habit forming. Though the addicting should really be caffeine, because if i wasnt drinking tea, i would be drinking sodas and thus getting the caffeine that way so Im not sure if that really counts as being adicted to TEA, but i am deffinately a caffeine addict. I have also developed a tea habit and really miss it on mornings i am in too much of a hurry to take the time to make tea, even if i substitute something else for my caffeine fix.
Started the day with silver needle, tried a sample of fine young hyson I recieved in my last tea order, had earl grey de la creme with lunch. Will probably have chocolate rooibos for desert after supper.

Red Peach this evening, w/my granddaughter, celebrating her 13th birthday!!!

I chose ``No, I do not believe it is addicting'', however it is habit-forming. I suppose Japanese greens come pretty close to being addictive, but they don't quite make it to physical dependency.

Mmm... sushi... blast it, Chip, now I'm gonna have to go get sushi for lunch tomorrow. It's only been 2 weeks, but I used to work there - 2 1/2 years around it, and it starts to be a subconscious craving; any time anyone brings it up, I suddenly crave it until I actually get it.Chip wrote:Then a pot of Genmaicha at the sushi bar with Mrs. Chip.
