Good to know... maybe I'll pass then. Or maybe I'll get it to see what everyone's raving about, and if I don't like it I'll force it on my roomate who loves cherriesChip wrote:There is Sakura blossom, then there is Sakura fruit, this is more fruit ... IMO and IMSMR.

Laura, some good sencha to try from Den's ... Shin-ryoku, Zuiko, Fukamushi Maki, Yame Fukamushi, any of the matcha added teas, and their Matcha. Their Guricha is pretty tasty too. Oh, good Kukicha! Well, lots of good ones.

The Den's starter pack is a good way to go and only $3, if you decided to reorder then get the sakura. In the meantime I'll send you a sample.LauraW wrote:I'm debating on this; I'm not a huge fan of cherry flavor, but my all-time favorite perfume is a very light one that smells of sakura (its wonderful and I love it, probably partially because it's so subtle - I don't like overly strong scents). Thoughts?
I'm also trying to get a variety without massively overbuying, and I think I've got my Ippodo order figured out... but I'm debating going ahead and getting a small order from Den's first to try a couple things since Ippodo's shipping is pretty steep. The more I think about this, the more I think that might be a good idea - better to spend $30 first and find out what I like, then spend the $80 later and better tailor the large order to my tastes... hmm...
Would that fragrance be Cherry Blossom by Guerlain?

The starter pack was definitely going to go in my order - along with some matcha and a couple other things. Thanks Chip, for the great suggestions!Victoria wrote: The Den's starter pack is a good way to go and only $3, if you decided to reorder then get the sakura. In the meantime I'll send you a sample.

That fragrance would be Sakura by Lush. I'll try to link it later, I'm at work and their website is classed as "Shopping" - but many tea sites aren't blocked (yay!!). Please don't tell my boss

By the way, Den always sends out a sample of the month. Just got my order in and it's Orange Sencha. Also, there is a coupon in JapanUP! magazine (which he also sends with orders) good for 10% off any matcha you order in February. The coupon code is MATCHA2010

I'm so excited. I always seem to wait too long to order the sakura sencha! I ordered two packages, just in case I love it. If I don't, I'm sure it'll find a home with some other lovely TCer.
I may have some hobbity hoarding tendencies.

Keep in mind I am not a fan of flavored tea (especially green) and really disliked this tea. If you do get it (lots of people do enjoy it) make sure not to overbrew or use too hot of water otherwise the tea will taste like cherry cough syrup. If you like the cherry flavor and brew it carefully I can certainly see why people like it but its not for me.
