Happy President's Day USA! I know a lot of us have the day off. I prefer my Fridays off, but extra holiday time off is always nice. Bummer the Post Office is closed today, again standing between me and my Hagi!!!

Started the morning with Silk Road Teas - Red Peach. This is on my "try to use up" short list, but then as the end nears, I feel a panic. I really love this tea. I think I am going to have to re-order.

Yea, some of us have to work today... but it's ok; they decided recently that we could take a "rolling holiday," which basically just means an extra day off. So no one took today off. Kinda makes me want to go find some random holiday (or some religious day I don't celebrate, or make something up) and claim it as my holiday just to be amusing. Not sure our bookkeeper would care though...

Maybe I'll claim "Tea Day"!!

Sagittarius blend after lunch, thinking about some Darjeeling to last the rest of the afternoon... yup. Gonna go make some right now on my non-holiday.

Definitely watching the Winter Olympics. Depends on mood, but I might check out just about anything. But the short track skating is certainly the most interesting and wildest event. A lot of the ski events really hold my interest. I think the downhill ski events have always been a must see, just insanely fast.

Now the newer events are crazy with all the flips and twists ... I would surely be dead if I ever tried that just once. Shawn White has certainly impressed in the X Games, see if that carries over to the Olympics ... seems he is on top of his game as usual!

Speed and/or finesse/skill events are fun and exciting to watch. Which is just about every event ...

Began the TD with Zencha Sencha brewed in a Momiji Kyusu and served up in Ice Split Hagi by Yamane Seigan.

Definitely watch the olympics as much as I can. But sadly Work must be done, though I did just use all three of my Deishi pieces at once brewing up some of Ippodo's Nichi Getsu, a tea that I'm in love with for its price.

Nah, not watching the Olympics... yet. Too much other stuff to do, like posting on TeaChat.

Today I am drinking puerh... a "finished" cake from 2003 which I've kept a couple of years. Smoother now, always was full-bodied with many brews. Good to know conditions in my apt are okay for it, so far.

Hopefully did not miss anything today in the WOs ... will turn it on soon.

Next up, Zencha Matcha in a Seigan Blue Chawan. Really like this Yame Matcha! TD continued with a Li Shan Oolong with Mrs. Chip from a TeaChatter's Grandmother served in this Taiwanese replica Gaiwanesque set. This is a beautiful set!!! I am glad I ordered extra cups.

Beautiful set, Chip!

Had some Lavender Earl Grey after dinner.. not a huge fan. Oh, and this was at a local "Wine, Tea and Dessert bar" which was a lot more like a bar, and a lot less like the place I was expecting. They had 6 teas, all in bags (1 green, 3 black, 2 herbal). Lots of wine (and good wine, at that), a full liquor bar, and a small assortment of desserts... I was less than pleased, but it served to pass the time until my ride got there.
