Monday TeaDay 3/1/10 BEST tea ever?

I dont know if i have a BEST tea. I have not been drinking tea very long and am still trying different teas/vendors. I voted white tea because i drink that the most, mainly because i prefer something light in the mornings and some days that is the only tea i drink.

Only had my morning silver needle today. My box from norbu arrived this afternoon so I will definately be doing some tasting tomorrow! In addition to the oolongs and whites i ordered, there was a surprise 10 g sample of a 2008 pu erh. I hadnt planned on trying pu for a while, there are just so many other teas and it really hadn't appealed to me, but since i have this lovely sample, I will probably end up trying it in the next week or so. (Getting tea shipments is so exciting, almost like christmas!!)

Best tea ever, this actually is dependent on harvest year. Tea is like wine, good, better, best years! But it was Japanese green(s)!

... several harvests of Yutaka Midori from O-Cha, Kame Gyokuro from O-Cha, Takumi from Zencha a few years back ... and the Gyokuro mentioned by Mrs. Chip which was given to me by a member who received it as a gift from someone who visited Korea and aquired it there. The odds of this happening again are about a million to one, unfortunately.

Began the TD with sencha, followed by Dongshan green from Adagio with the mrs. I would say this is a very easy going Chinese green!

It is amazing how many members have gotten this, in fact I did too.

Hm, I might have to go with snowbud... I've long been someone who enjoys white tea, but this one really just struck me in all the right places!!

Darjeeling this morning at work, (they finally blocked TeaChat - I was wondering how long it would take - so I can only respond at home now, at least until I start taking my laptop to work every day ) thought about some oolong in the afternoon, but the office was rather warm so I decided against.

The best I´ve had is single bush milan dancong...I liked so much I bought 1kg in 2008 for long term aging! My gf and I are creating a tradition of drinking it together each Christmas

Rich and earthy, with the usual mate kick. Not subtle or complex, but a fantastic mate blend that works as well in the gourd as it does in a thermos.

I'm still sifting through all the different Chinese teas out there.

I really love a flavored tea that was sold to me under the name "coconut oolong," but I have no idea what vendor supplies it. It consists of mostly whole leaves, so it seems to have come from a decent place.

Thats a great idea entopyembrace what better way to celebrate than drinking some tea with traditon. Ive been drinking some yak butter pu erh only on holidays so maybe that will become a traditon for me... or maybe its just because I don't want to drink it very often

Tossup between a Frozen Summit Oolong, and a White Peony competition grade. Sadly, both teas were purchased as barely larger than a "sample" size, and was sold out by the time I returned for more.
