Most anything Chai that is gifted to me never gets used. I may not throw it away but it usually winds up in someone else's hands sooner or later.
Too many companies think they can take a black tea and throw in a pile of cloves and call it a "chai". Yuck.

Sky Warrior, thanks for the offer to download, of which I have already taken advantage - I'm a sucker for a good fantasy novel.
Victoria, great pictures. I needed the reminder that spring is just a few weeks away.
I'm much too conservative to throw tea away. The few ones that I really don't want to drink simply collect dust at the back of the cabinet. Logic dictates that I'll sooner or later have to get rid of them, but I'm not holding my breath.

Book looks nifty, Skywarrior. I'll have to check it out.
If I can't foist something I find undrinkable off on someone else, I toss it. My sister, who's clueless about tea, recently bought me some Lapsang Souchong (which I've tried and despise) on a shop owner's recommendation. I opened the bag to give my mother and boyfriend a sniff, and then introduced it to Mr. Trashcan. There will be no campfires in my cup, thankyouverymuch.
I give everything a taste before I toss it, at least.
This morning, what I think was the last of a Yunnan black... I really should transfer the labels to my sample-sized containers when I transfer the teas.

I haven't thrown away tea for a long time. I don't buy more than I drink and I don't take many risks when buying my tea.

Yes, I've thrown away some bad teas. (Remember the bags from HF?
) If it is something that seems good, but I just don't like it, I pass it on to those who might, with instructions to trash without guilt if they don't like it!
A nice oolong this morning. The last of something.

OK, two teas, I forgot about the Twinings Lapasang Souchong that I also tossed immediately, but that was 11 years ago.
I have a hard time throwing tea away, even bad stuff, but I don't drink it.
Began the TD with Hankook Gamnong, this is the best of the Korean teas I have had. SweeTea joined in w/o complaint today while Lili and Wulong stopped by the TeaTable for a visit.

Re: Monday TeaDay 3/15/10 DisposalTea?
When I first switched from bagged to loose, I kept trying to buy bagged tea from the grocery store I worked at, and I always hated it. Finally one day I said enough and threw it all away and stopped trying to buy it. As for loose teas, I never throw them out - I send them to other people in the hopes that they'll be able to stomach them.

Yes, thank you for coloring our TD, Victoria!
Good luck with your e-book, Sky! I am looking forward to checking it out.

Teas I do not drink, I also try to pass on, but I don't want to pass on something that I know the recipient won't like. The rest actually goes inot the TeaBath and Iced Tea reserves. Sometimes iced, a tea can be redeemed.
Next up, a FF Darjeeling sample from Adagio. Quite good! Enjoyed this tea with Mrs. Chip.

Re: Monday TeaDay 3/15/10 DisposalTea?
I have met a few teas that I don't like, mostly because I like to experiment and try a bunch of stuff. So I have found out that I don't like 95% of oolongs (sorry, oolong fanciers
) , darjeeling, or flavored teas. I've only ever forced myself to drink one unliked tea-- some TGY which I purchased in Chinatown. Otherwise, I either leave the tea around in hopes that someone will take it or throw it out for me (like the chocolate-hazelnut flavored tea I purchased because I wanted to see what the heck it was, exactly), or I give it to friends who have different tastes and will appreciate the tea.

First off - thanks Skywarrior - I'm downloading Prophecy of Swords to my Kindle. I'm a big Fantasy fan.
Only teas I have ditched were samples. Just could not take Adagios Blood Orange - and a sample of their Sencha overture will probably next since my Den's order has arrived. Gave it a few tries and it was bitter each time.
Earlier today - Den's Genmaicha Extra Green - I love this stuff!
