Yes, get well soon, ArtMom!!!

Hard to answer, I used to get much more caffinatated several years ago when I drank much more tea. Now I can feel groggy after a sencha session ... and sometimes I will feel a pleasant zing ... and mostly I feel comforted by the warm brew.

Began the TD with an unusual sencha from Ryu Mei with Mrs. Chip. It is an aged limited edition that exhibits an earthiness. Interesting and pleasant.

I normally just get a 'soothing comfort' feeling from drinking tea. The only time I ever get a buzz is from matcha or a really strong puerh.

nothing in my cup yet, but im thinking about a second flush darjeeling.

I've never felt the effects of caffeine except when I drink about six cups of tea in the afternoon and can't get to sleep.

Not feeling anything except my aching legs. I put a new floor in my kitchen yesterday (all by myself!) NO tea yesterday, only a TINY cup of coffee, ate snacks instead of real food, boy am I stupid, but the floor looks great! (the cabinets are another story.)

Beautiful flooring Geekgirl!

We have put laminate flooring in two of our bedrooms, so I can completely sympathize with the math, and the aches and pains. Good job!

Yep, we did laminate in our family room 7(ish) years ago. Beastly job, but it looks really nice and it's very durable. This was MUCH easier because it's vinyl plank and you can cut it with a blade, instead of a table saw.

Need More Tea. (limps to kitchen)

I usually just get a sensation of soothing comfort from my tea, especially in the winter! Caffeine doesn't affect me except for in huge quantities ( >5 cups of coffee), so any other effects are in my head.

Oolong/jasmine green tea right now, to be followed by...who knows?

Just makes me feel better mood-wise.
On an AWESOME note, there is a new tea kiosk in the mall!! (Silverlake Mall in Coeur d'Alene.)
No, thankfully not a Teavana kiosk.

I had an excellent tea there this morning, Russian Samovar, it's mostly a black blend with a bit of green.
They also sell tea by the ounce!! :) :)
Super happy that the mall is in walking distance from my place!

The tea kiosk is called Pearl Mountain Tea, and the owner is very nice. The prices are quite reasonable, and there is also a bit of tea-ware.

It's a good incentive to get me moving on my morning walk lol
Looking forward to tomorrow morning!

+1!! Good wishes coming your way!

Also, great job on the floor, GG!!

As for the topic... I'd say "other" because sometimes it's a slight zing (if I'm already up), more often it's a slight wakeup (either from sleep or from my eyes closing at work, usually some time in the afternoon), and sometimes nothing at all. Today started out with gunpowder in the morning, Caramel Delight in the afternoon, and I'm thinking about matcha while I make dinner. Still haven't found a chasen (the local asian market didn't have one), but my little metal whisk will do. Must find a bigger bowl though, I thought I was going to splash the last one everywhere because the last bowl I tried barely fit enough water!

Nothing soothes and relaxes me like hot tea. The caffeine in tea never seems to have an effect on me whereas coffee can and does, especially at night. I look forward to my afternoon tea as a time to just sit back and relax. While I love coffee too, for me the terms coffee and relax are an oxymoron while tea and relax are terms that are a perfect fit.

+1, no HagiFatalities I hope.

Funny, I had a bit of a ZING today, more so than normal. I think it was tea on a very empty stomach!

Hankook mystery tea, I could look it up, but it is not on the site anymore ...

And after a LONG absence, LONG JING from TeaSpring ... lol I had to think hard how to brew it which is pretty funny considering up to 2-3 years ago I had LJ virtually every day for around 7 years.

... this unopened bag has been in the TeaFridge for a LONGGG time. I think it is around 2007 harvest. Amazingly it has retained its glory. But I might do a refresh pan firing just for the fun of it! It is their low grade stuff which is still better than 9 out of 10 domenstic LJs on the market.

I find drinking tea is very soothing and meditative. I've been drinking it daily for over 30 years, so the caffeine doesn't effect me at all. I find that the lack of caffeine effects me. If I don't drink tea for a day I get headaches and feel really woozy. So, come to think of it, I guess caffeine does effect me, but not in the way that it keeps me up or gives me a Zing. It might be healthier if I slowed down my tea intake a bit, but that's just not going to happen!
