Oh, wow, I'm very excited!!
On my second cup of looseleaf pu-erh right now-- the first was taken to the craft store in a thermos, and I got a bunch of funny looks while telling my friends that I was enjoying some nice, hot, fermented tea.
Later will probably be a green of some description or some of my looseleaf Thai tea blend-- Chinatown has wondrous things indeed.

Mixed a couple of Black Pearls with some Imperial Red -- smooth and pretty.
GD Alex will be over this evening; so I expect we'll have some MF Marco Polo.

Been an up-and-down TeaDay today. Started out with some good darjeeling in the morning, in the afternoon had a craving for gunpowder.... which I let steep way too long - had to throw out the first cup and go make another. Got home and made the last of the Fukamushi to have with dinner, and thinking about having something else once my boyfriend figures out what he wants to soothe his pollen-related sneezing.
Bonus: in the waning evening sun, I got a couple good pics of my favorite, beautiful tea bowls; those will be posted probably not until the weekend, as tonight is filled with laundry, packing, and having a friend over. And, of course, tea!

I fully endorse this idea!Chip wrote:There will be a MatChaWan toast, right????

I guess I should answer the question of the day ... since I am doing this with the TAs, DEFINITELY, I am allll over this. I am hoping this rivals the huge popularity of the Hagi SOs!
I cannot wait for the first one to start, which will be in about 10ish days featuring Pink Shino glazed pieces from TA ChicagoPotter ... along with a Sakura theme in honor of Spring and the Sakura blossums.
Pretty good TD, could have handled more tea however. TD began with Mystery Sencha from Ryu Mei, then Genmaicha at the Sushi bar and finally a 2006 Taiwan Oolong from TeafromTaiwan with Mrs. Chip.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/7/10 TC/TA SOs?
Other than my quest for a kyusu I can love more than my utilitarian but not beautiful one from Dens, I'm not really seeking a lot of teaware right now. OTOH, I do have some favorite drinking cups that I adore that are just a little too small....and it would be nice to have some that are just a bit bigger.
Today my glass mug showed off the morning gyokuro beautifully as usual; in the middle of the day, I drank my favorite Tie Guan Yin from the thermos cup, not nearly worthy of such a gorgeous tea, but functional; and later I tried some korean green tea, brewed again for the thermos, and drunk from same. Finally got back to the Tie Guan Yin leaves, still with a few more infusions left in them, and am drinking from my celadon cup, which really is just fine and doesn't need replacing. Probably. I think. ....
