My favorite of the month was Tao of Tea's Mao Feng Noir from the Hunan province in China.
Moving back to India today with Nilgiri Blue, again from ToT. This tea is really chopped up for some reason, almost CTC without the Curl - but still tasty if I don't use too much leaf.

Re: Sunday TeaDay 5/2/10 Best tea for April?
April was a tough month for greens as I decided not to buy and wait instead on Japanese Shincha ... a mistake maybe?!?!
2 teas top the list. A brand new Yutaka Midori sample from O-Cha. This was quite tasty, especially on sencha deprived tastebuds.
The second one was not a green, Maestro Ti Kuan Yin from our host Adagio.
Began the TD with a well traveled sencha with Mrs. Chip. First flown from Japan to PA, then driven around under the car seat for another 15,000 miles. Pretty decent considering, though your milage may vary!

The best tea I had this month would have to be the two times I chipped a bit off my pu brick. It absolutely blew the looseleaf out of the water! It's closely followed by Yunnan black, which I tried for the first time; rose sencha; and pouchong (in no particular order of preference).
Currently drinking some looseleaf pu-erh-- next time I use any from the brick will probably be after the last of the final exams. (I don't know whether to be frightened or overjoyed at how soon that is.
) Later tonight will probably be a green of some description, most likely sencha with jasmine.

Oh Adam I bet that Shui Xian was delicious and well worth the price after getting so many infusions and celebrating your last undergrad class. Congrats!AdamMY wrote:Well it would have been a tough call, but one tea stood out among the rest ( it did in price too.
The Mandarins Tea room 1960's Shui Xian, incredibly long lasting for a Wuyi Yancha, I lost count of how many infusions I did but it was quite a few.
I should say I had it after my last day of classes as an Undergraduate student.
Yancha was at the top of my April teas with an awsome rou gui. I remember specifically how good it was because it was a nice break from writing a psychology paper. Maybe thats why it was so sweet

Much needed MF Marco Polo while cooking dinner, since I felt like going to sleep at 5pm.. Looking forward to a shipment of tea this week, I've run out of so many things lately!

Very interesting poll results so far, this question really offers seaonal answers as China is blazing the trail by a long shot. And as always, enjoying reading the posts today.
TD continued with Maestro Jasmine Pearls and then an oolong that the name is eluding me at the moment, but it is from TfT from a few years ago.

Japanese green.
Sorry I haven't been around...... got the awful Russian "Your computer is infected with a virus. Install this new anti-virus." VIRUS. It is a bear....and is even worse than itr was about a year ago. I am using a different machine at the moment. Might have lost a C drive.
It got thru a combination of AVG, AdAware, and MalwareBytes.
best,

Victoria Im almost in the same situationVictoria wrote:April was not a very good month. Drinking up a lot of old stuff. And then some Darjeeling tastings that were not so good. So the only true month long star was Himalayan - so I went with China, even though it is from Nepal. But it is a black, and also I had several good Chinese blacks so I'm fine with saying China. Some good oolong tastings in there but they ran out far too soon. Does that make sense? I guess I'm grumbling. And more of the same for this month as I finish up some older stuff.
Im sorry John that really sucks. Last year I actually bought a virus onlineJBaymore wrote:Japanese green.
