I prefer to slurp, then sip, then gulp and lastly chug. I guess they all have their place.

I slurp a fresh pot so I can capture the most of the hot tea,
this eventually evolves to sipping as I settle in and simply enjoy a bit less intently.

I may gulp the last bits of a cup that has cooled and may have lost some of its essence.

And I will often chug the last steeping of a tea as I might a refreshing glass of water ... which it is usually simply tea water by now ... and I have not coincidentally neglected it to the point of its cooling to room temp.

Usually sipping. I do gulp on occasion, and also slurp when doing a tasting, but mostly sipping.

In my cup this morning Yashadhara FF Darjeeling.

Have a nice day everyone!

2nd cup of the day is Dawn by the Simple Leaf. Sent to me by a friend on another site. This is a great tea! No flavorings added and I'm getting dark chocolate, honey and a roasted malty flavor that is having me gulping this cup!

Got in trouble for slurping my soup when I was in a Western diner. I forget to change my manners over sometimes!

Always sipping slowly and reflecting. I think the only thing I can gulp down is water after a long exhausting workout.

 I was actually wondering if I have been slurping in public as I was doing this topic. Hopefully not.

Adagio TKY from the Maestro series earlier.

That is true. Tea tasters slurp to vaporize the tea as much as possible to maximize the exposure to their taste buds.

I slurp and sip as needed. :)

I almost always sip-- otherwise I'll either burn my mouth or end up sputtering with tea in my windpipe. What can I say, I'm clumsy... I only slurp if I've filled my cup to the point where there is a meniscus peeking OVER the rim of the cup and anything else would lead to spillage.

My first tea of the day was some genmaicha which unfortunately ended up tasting like berries. Someone gave me some flavored green tea, which I don't like, so I'd been pawning it off on my friends. Last night, I gave the last bag (halleleujah, it's gone!! :D ) to the girlfriend, buuuuut... The fake berry flavoring wouldn't come out of the cup, no matter how much I washed it. ARGH. >.<

Currently drinking some lovely, lovely pu-erh with chrysanthemum petals, sans fakey berry flavor! Yay!!

May I ask what genmaicha you had that tasted like berries? That would be a curious tea :) Or was a berry tea in the cup previous to the genmaicha?

Sipping on more 52teas Champagne Mojito. Icing my next cup as this is lovely iced...no sweetner needed (I usually sweeten my iced teas, but am trying to get away from doing so).

Having two different iced teas with dinner. Both RoT's tisanes: Hibiscus Pineapple Lychee and Hibiscus Lime. I love the sweet and tart flavor of the hibiscus in iced tea. And the deep crimson color is so wonderful!

Alright, so this morning... totally walked out the door without the Fujian I wanted to try... ended up with the last of the English Breakfast, with some Caramel Delight in the afternoon. Wanted to make some pre-dinner tea, but everyone was ready before the tea was, so there's water on for some Oolong #8 right now! Fujian can wait until morning.

Goodnight fellow tea drinkers.

Since my sips this morning, I've had three different Chinese black teas. What can I say? The weather suddenly turned cold and dreary, and I've needed something to take the chill away at all hours of the day. After lunch, a Keemun hong cha in mugs; in the evening, a Keeman Hao Ya A in a gaiwan; after dinner, some delicious Dian Hong...honey, creamy, spicy.

There had been berry tea in the cup last night... No matter how much I washed it, it wouldn't come out, argh.

My last tea of the day is a sage tisane. Kitchen herbs made into tisanes are so relaxing!
