Gonna go with "big" - thinking about, reading about, making and drinking aren't a huge portion of my day, and I wouldn't go crazy if I didn't have tea, but I would miss it. It's more of a habit than anything else, but it's there and not to be ignored, which makes it "big."

So there.

Anyway, drank Yunnan Noir all day at work (~5cups), and had some Fukamidori with dinner (which was tuna with orange/avocado salsa, corn, and bread I'd made yesterday with spiced olive oil).

I spent most of the day driving, with a biggie bottle of cold brewed green tea :D

Sorry for dropping in so late, I am such a terrible host of TD.

TEA is quite big.

Yeah, something like that. Morning, noon and even night, there is always TEA! I begin thinking about the following morning's tea the evening before ... like right now I am considering which shincha to begin the TD?

A very good TD beginning with Yuuki-Cha Magokuro Organic. I am still working on the parameters and adapting to the organic versus conventional as it is almost a different class of tea, a different type of tea, if you know what I mean. SweeTea enjoyed hers while Gandalf and "Shincha" visited the TeaTable.

Next up, Adagio Maestro Keemun. Keemun has always been my fave black going back to my breakthrough tea ... so this brings back early memories.

Last up, Sencha Sakuro from O-Cha.

Getting some time to myself to brew tea in the morning and relax before working or cleaning the house is huge. Lets me feel all gathered and balanced for everything that comes in and that in turn contributes a great deal to my overall happiness and calm.

Tea is a HUGE part of my day. If I even go near the kitchen, I'm probably brewing tea. We have an electric kettle in our apartment, and I use it about five, six, seven times a day on average while it's actual owner uses it around once a day. I'll be getting my own temperature variable one after graduation. I can't wait.

Tea is such a big part of my life it's surpassed my kitten in terms of how much I spend on it, which was a huge revelation considering I brought my kitten with me from Korea ($300 up front just to put her on the plane, I don't want to begin to list the additional costs).

But, yes, I love tea, and I'll admit it's a huge part of my life. Relaxing with a pot of a winter spice cocoa-y tisane. Mmmmmmmmm.

Today started with Sencha, taking some precious morning minutes; then midday some Yunnan wild arbor 'Oriental Beauty' oolong added pleasure to a rather dull meeting; a bit of my favorite Diamond Tie Guan Yin from Norbu got the evening off to a good start; and a Menghai 2005 'early spring' puerh tuo accompanied a long baking session (three kinds of bread and cookies, almsot finished washing up).

As for the importance of tea in my life, while coming in to work today I was greeted by a colleague who told me about a tea shop she just discovered and wants to share with me; I shared some of both the 'Oriental Beauty' and the Tie Guan Yin with other colleagues who are just learning about tea beyond the flavored fancy supermarket tea bag; and now this evening I am again sharing my TeaDay with you.

And I'm already pondering which tea cup to take with me to my satellite office tomorrow, to be left there in perpetuity with a spare thermos and gaiwan. I stocked the cabinet with good tea last month--will be interesting to see if anyone else tried any of it, as I invited them to.

And now, I don't think that last bowl needs any more soaking. Time for cleanup and sleep.

Big. Need tea every day. It is my ritual in the morning, must prepare and drink while I write. I am addicted. I mean I crave it if I hadn't had it by mid-afternoon. I go by what I feel each morning for what I want to drink, and I stick with the one tea, rebrewing.

Big, I guess. Some mornings I wake up and my first thoughts are, "Hmm, which tea to start the day with..." Although honestly sometimes I do crave a good cup of Milo.

But usually, as I groggily descend the stairs to the bathroom I'm already mentally picking out my tea ware. Then during my mid-morning cup I decide on which teas to try in the afternoon and evening, and will research about them throughout the day.

On my third refill of a tall glass of long jing this morning.
