No, probably not anymore. After years of being adventureous I've kinda' settled in to a confort with greens.
Still drink most anything that is "tea" when it is stareing me in the face, but I'm really no longer aggressively searching out the "new and different".
best,
............john

I'd like to say I'm pretty adventurous but, when it comes down to it, I'm a creature of habit. While I'm happy to try anything offered, or something new that strikes my fancy, I tend to order the same sorts of teas from the same list of vendors. I'm...hobbity.

I prepared Organic White Peony from Rishi for the second time; this time, I checked the water temp, put in the two tablespoons of leaf, brewed only 3 minutes, and it was drinkable! In fact, it probably was a very good white tea--just remember I know nothing about white teas--this is about only the fourth or fifth cuppa I've had of white.
The leaves were a nice size, quite green , which, as most of you know, is not my fav color.
The aroma had just a hint of grassiness, not too spinachy. The liquor color was much stronger than last night's cup.
All in all, was an okay experience. It might grow on me.

You never know. That next tea you try just might be your favorite.
Today's first tea is a jasmine pearl from nmteaco.

'TCers might say not, but those around me yes.'
Drinking a mixture (mixing is adventurous--yes?) of Chiran and YM shinchas.

Cheers!

Well, I haven't been able to find a source for that infamous "poo-poo pu-erh" Mike Petro wrote about, but when I do . . . then we'll see who's an adventurous tea drinker!

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/8/10 TeaAdventurist
This is obviously a "white tea day" for me.
This afternoon, sampled Organic White Tea Rose Melange from Rishi. A mixture of roses, white tea, green tea
, peppermint, lavender, and jasmine.
Followed the directions for steeping strictly. I guess I don't have much of a palate. I found it quite pleasant for just sipping from my Little Pig Pottery celadon yunomi. After trying it, I searched in the White Tea subforum of TeaChat and found that some folk didn't like it back in 2007. Oh, well. It gives me a pleasant, low-temp tea that doesn't require milk or a treat to go with it. I like the peppermint lingering on my tongue.
Do you remember the "Chatty Cathy" dolls? I feel like that today; someone keeps pulling my string!!!

Yes, I think I am adventerous. I'm still in the try anything and everything phase of tea drinking, and will probably continue this way as I seem to bore easily and like to mix up my beverages frequently. Although maybe I'm not that adventurous as I haven't tried pu-erh yet.

So, great TD, began with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. SweeTea was front and center for a taste! Meanwhile Ceylon and Shincha visited the TeaTable.
Next up, Traditional Shincha from Hibiki-an. Finishing up with Sae Midori from O-Cha.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/8/10 TeaAdventurist
I started very conservatively, finally got over 'red tin oolong or nothing' fear of 'other' tea, and now am happily drinking almost everything except assam-style black teas. I've drunk tea from mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, India, Nepal, Kenya, and even ordered teas directly from Japan and China. That's not even counting the non-C. sinensis rooibos from Africa and the Lemon Myrtle from Australia.
Pretty good travel-through-food experiences.
Today started with Tenryu Misakubo organic shincha from Japan (from Yuuki-cha), on to a sample of 2007 Yong De Zi Yu Tea Factory ecological old tree shu puerh from China (via Norbu), and now Jin Xuan Green tea from Taiwan (via Norbu).

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/8/10 TeaAdventurist
I would say I am adventurous to a point. However, I do like to stick to teas that I've heard are good so I don't waste my money.
Had a good day so far, been studying all day for an exam tomorrow so I had lots of tea to help me focus.
So far:
'10 Hong Cha from YS
'07 "Golden Needle White Lotus" Shupu (again)
Den's Fuka-Midori.
The Den's tea came from the $3 sampler and was my first Japanese Sencha. Can't say I was amazed, but it was definitely far from bad.
Maybe I'll tweak some things and give it another go.

Currently drinking a chrysanthemum tisane. I've been craving flowers in my tea a lot lately, for some reason.
