Shuweet Brandon. Thanks for adding color to our TD!
I could almost say 100%, but will err conservativey and say 90% It rarely ever happens that I buy an unsatisfactory tea. I try lots of teas but stay w/i a narrow range of focus for the most part.
Began the TD with Kirameki from the O-C with the Mrs. Followed up with Yutaka Midori from the O-C. And finishing with an anon organic shincha from a friend.
So it is a 100% day.

Probably something between 80 and 90% these days, although I explore enough outside of my comfort zone to have some not so perfect teas here and there.
Today has been a slow teaDay--on my first tea of the day now, and just need to confirm that Yin Zhen (silver needle) goes fabulously with dark chocolate. Drinking some from the Cultured Cup, part of a tasting, and alternating nibbles of dark chocolate with sips of tea is delightful.

I voted 70%, but you get a story with my vote.
About 50% of my tea purchases are modestly priced, and about half of them are good while the other half are disappointing in some way. Unless I decide to unlimit my tea budget I will probably continue to have these disappointments.
Jing's Xi Ping TGY for breakfast, Jing's Ba Xian for lunch, and Hou de's Lin-Tou dancong after supper.

Just my style... visually appealing with long needles, liquor is vibrant but with great clarity. Sweet but slightly bitter, slightly astringent, taste goes on long after you finish your cup.brlarson wrote:That's the new Shizuokan sencha from Tea Gallery? How did you like it?brandon wrote: ... I still want to try this year's Kagoshima blend, of course. I can't recall another sencha experience that instantly conjured fruits. Tons of body without being muddy.
But today I will have to return to the Wuyi mountain...

It sounds enticing. I might need to order their sencha sampler, which includes the tenryu, after I work down my stock of shincha. Tea Gallery's offering last year of Yame gyokuro was also exquisite.
I'm back into the Lin-Tou this morning. Today is a rare day with no obligations and I plan to enjoy it.

Happy Sunday everyone.
I'm feeling a bit tired today, not enough sleep so I will brew some black strawberry tea by Adagio now, two cups should do the job of waking me up.

Last night, I went to a restaurant and was shocked to have orange pekoe from a tea bag that I actually liked! (Usually, the bags don't do it for me... I think I'm probably brewing them wrong.
) After that happy experience, I came home and drank several steepings of jasmine green tea pearls. Mmmm. ^.^
Got back from a run a little while ago, and my first priori-TEA
after scrubbing down was making the keemun that's in my cup right now.

I said 90%.
Having Dancong Aria from Adagio. After I read the interview with the farmer growing this tea I tried to picture the Phoenix Mountain, China.
Then I just googled it and it did look exactly as I imagined:

@ Brandon - nice photo, I really like the colors. I'm also always admiring the pot in your avatar picture
Chip, I tried to send you a pm twice but for some reason I can't. Could you please send me your list with tea words?

@ Jazz 88 -
Thanks!

Here is a full size of the avatar, glad you like it.
Today it is storming in the northeast giving us a break from the heat and a nice atmosphere for Wuyi tea on a (covered!) porch. Also gives us a rare chance to fire up a charcoal brazier. Experimenting with a mixture of "match light" briquettes and hardwood lump charcoal (much higher quality, much harder to start).

Thanks!
