I guess I shoot for mid range or a bit better. I will still search above and below this level, looking for great teas and also looking for everyday types. But I have to start somewhere.

Great TeaDay yesterday. Began with Kirameki con cats, followed by Yutaka Midori, both from O-Cha. Finished with Adagio's Master Ali Shan. 3 great teas ...

I've tended to purchase the more expensive options if there appeared to be a reasonable justification. So when I ordered sencha from O-Cha I never tried the "daily" sencha - I bought Yutaka Midori and others in that price range. I learned my lesson with Gyokuro - I bought the Yame instead of the Kame and I haven't been that happy with it. I realize now it was really just sticker shock because when I bought the Uji Karigane Gyokuro "Asa-Giri" last year, which I really enjoyed, I spent just about the same amount for karigane as I paid this year for regular Gyokuro. Next time I order from O-Cha I'll aim higher in the Gyokuro category - there does appear to be a good relationship between price and value there.

In my cup this morning - Jasmine Downy White Pekoe from Upton's.

"Other" - almost always go from a recommendation first.
