Re: Tuesday TeaDay 8/3/10 Fave cup of tea of the TD?
I chose the third tea of the day, usually when I get home from work and can start relaxing...Although I do enjoy the first cup too. Just got home from the hospital, had surgery today, all went well thank God, and am having my first cup of tea for today, Celestial Seasonings Vanilla Honey Chai white tea, it was easier to just grab a tea bag, am going to go rest now...

Perhaps it is always the next tea? The anticipation ... but I said the first tea of the day as well as most of you. I begin thinking about the first tea of the day around 12 hours in advance! It is also generally the only tea regularly shared with the Mrs., yet I seem to softly say "shh" a lot ... allowing the tea to do the talking and enjoying the quiet sharing of the morning sencha ... and not allowing the day to creap in quite yet!
Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha with the Mrs. Followed by a tasting of Nishi a la Rishi.

I'm going with first tea - as that one usually lasts the longest (4-5 steeps throughout the morning and into the afternoon sometimes). I don't always get a second tea, but when I do, I'm usually making dinner, which is more distracting to my tea-drinking than while I'm at work. But there are definitely occasions (rainy afternoon, my pre-show meditative tea, etc) where the favorite is decidedly not the first tea of the day.
Yunnan Noir all day... not sure what's next, but I'm heating up water now!

Usually the first tea of the day -
MATCHA!!!
But not always.
Sometimes it's one of the other ones that really tickles my fancy for the day, or occasionally no fancy is tickled at all, just good tea with no stand out experience.
Just finished a cup of puerh mix - rishi sheng tuocha and shu toucha. Very, very yummy!

The Wuyi was very nice, as expected. Later on was Shincha from the OTTI followed some cheap & unnamed Shengpu brewed "grandpa style."
I lost my thermometer yesterday so today I picked up a new one. I thought it'd be funny to relabel the temp suggestions.

- Beef Rare - Gyokuro
Ground Beef - Sencha 1st steep
Poultry - Sencha 2rd steep
Beef Well - Sencha 3rd steep

That first tea of the day, when I get my first taste of tea and can finally relax.
Currently I'm drinking a cup of licorice, a little to late for me to drink anything else for now.

Glad to hear, Katy! Hopefully the recovery will be swift as well.Katy1977 wrote: Just got home from the hospital, had surgery today, all went well thank God, and am having my first cup of tea for today
That is pretty astute and funny, actually.nickE wrote:I lost my thermometer yesterday so today I picked up a new one. I thought it'd be funny to relabel the temp suggestions.

Its fun because you never quite no what you're going to get! Mine's all sheng, fairly youngish stuff atm.nickE wrote:I guess it'd have to be the first cup, as I look forward to it the most.
Started the day with some YS label Puerh, nice session. Planning on brewing up a Wuyi soon.
I've also been doing this, but have not tried it yet. How did it turn out? Mine is a shu/sheng mix so it'll be interesting whenever I get around to sampling it.Jack_tea... wrote: In my cup this morning, raw-Pu-erh home blend... basicially all the odds and ends of cakes/samples thrown together into a tin to see what happens, an idea I stole from Hobbes!

I voted for second tea of the day (TOD), but it's often the third. The first TOD wakes me up and is usually a rock tea. My fave TOD is my afternoon tea. Afternoon is usually when I slow down enough to really enjoy a cup or two. Fave TOD can be almost anything depending on my mood and on who is around. Recent afternoon teas have been shincha, white tea, and dancong.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 8/3/10 Fave cup of tea of the TD?
It is not in the first ones, 'cause it is not enough time in the morning to really enjoy the tea. And I haven't got the peace at work to drink my good tea there. After work I start my teatime with Matche most of the time - sometimes this is my fave cup of the day, sometimes not - but in this case it will follow
