Weekend TeaDay 8/7-8/10 Carry on teaware?

2 or 3 of my favorite cups (all different styles), my lonely gaiwan, and an IngenuiTea. That pretty much sums up my teaware - maybe a large English-style pot for keeping water at hand.

Been a busy day, mostly in the kitchen, and to compliment that (figuring I'd forget it at least once), lots of short infusions of Snowbud! Then while sitting down to do some sewing (and finish letting bread rise) I had some Peach goodness, with just a tiny tiny bit of honey. What next? Maybe some Four Seasons oolong to take to work tonight.

I checked "Other." My steward will have laid in all the Teaware on the list my social secretary has provided; and he will have shared the list with the staff for my low tea event each afternoon. My minions take good care of me!

Hey everyone! Its been so long since I posted here...way way way too long! Not much has changed, just drinking lots of yancha and some shincha fukamidori and other misc. goodies.

I was playing Cranium(board game) with some friends and one group had the question: What is the first part of the scientific name for the plant used to make tea? I wished I had gotten an easy question like that! Anyway it reminded me of you teachatters here and how long Ive been away.

Now for this Cruise. I would need my little 60ml celadon gaiwan for yancha brewing along with a yixing or two and a large glass teapot for all the others. My favorite hagi and some gong fu cups along with my large tiger yunomi would cover all the teacup needs. Now for the accessories, teascale, theremometer, stopwatch, teaspoon. I think thats all. Oh and a fairness cup to of course keep things fair

I spoke to one of my friends the other day, and she said that the Asian grocery near our college sells kyusus!! So I'm probably getting one at some point this fall. Sooooo excited!

Looks like I might need a second TeaTrunk! I previously neglacted to add a Chawan to the TeaTrunk, and too hard to pick one, so added 2.

Began the TD with a dribs and drabs mish mash of sencha leftovers. Turned out pretty good. Next up, MATCHA in a ShyRabbit TA SO Chawan! Purty!

Lets just say As the years go by it seems the amount of teaware I would need to carry on seems to be growing at an alarming rate. And as much as I keep telling myself that I am going to stop acquiring teaware, it seems new things perk up and there is a new thing on my list to acquire.

Just had the 2009 Douji "Shangdou" puerh. Very grainy and lots of sugar, interesting cuppa.

This weekend I've made one thermos full of tea with the Kamjove, but otherwise everything has been brewed with the gaiwans, and today's trip to Wing Hop Fung was motivated by need to replace a broken one and keep the tasting set up to full strength. So for the teaCruise, where I won't have to be far from hot water at any time, I'll certainly be fine with a gaiwan.

I'm successfully brewing white, green oolong and puerh teas in one, so whatever anyone brings to share, I'll be ready.

Tonight tried my first Tai Ping Hou Kui, a very nice mellow green tea; and another first brewing of Yunnan silver needle from Norbu.
