ugh... I don't feel like reading all this, but my suggestion would be to put the tea loose in the teapot, and pour it out THROUGH wire mesh into your cup

Lazy Rabbit... He said he doesn't want to do that. For the small teapots, it's not easy to get the leaves back in the pot.

I just tried making loose leaf tea for my mom with my Japanese teapot, which turned out bad because the leaves immediately cloged the spout.
So I just tried cutting out a mesh of a strainer, and stuffing it up the spout, and it would not stay. How did you get yours to stay?

I cut it into a human-eye shape (wide oval tapering to points) about 1/4" taller than the inside opening (which had a slight lip) and poked in the center so that the two points stuck out horizontally.
Try it.

Mine doesn't have a lip, which might be why it didn't work for me. I used the same shape and size of mesh, just it won't stick. I guess this pot will only work with an infusor.

Yeah- I guess if it is a completely flush spout you would have to either use adhesive or a VERY well cut circle of mesh. Sorry.
I was looking for the same thing when I came across your post and thought of sharing info
