Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
I just satisfied my GREEN craving with some Shin-ryoku sencha from Den's. It was good, but to be honest, I didn't think it tasted much different from their Fuka-midori, which is almost half the price. I'll have to try it some more though.
Chip, I think your polls have too many choices. "I really crave 'em" vs. "I certainly crave them"?

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
Nope, don't really crave them. Some are ok, most are too veggie or marine for me. Not my thing. By the way, it's fine to feel this way, it's ok to not like green.
Started the morning with Black Dragon Pearls and currently in my cup - some Jasmine Oolong.

Crave the guricha really bad. Just hits a spot don't know why.
All jap greens I crave, minus the matcha which I have not explored yet. Saving that for a special occasion I guess.

I voted 10, no big surprise I am sure. I crave the morning sencha the night before ... and simply cannot resist a good green!
Began the TD with another new sencha that has an interesting story ... ah, for another day. SweeTea was present for the tasting while Fuji and Shincha were passive ...

I'm new to trying green teas because I've never liked them but think I may have not tried the right ones. I think now that I just don't like the very grassy ones and prefer lighter green teas. I have craved some of the lighter greens but those really remind me of white teas.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
I crave very few teas, and rarely if ever have I craved green tea. I had been craving proper chai for about a year and I made it just right today. I am very pleased.

Indeed...now to find something green that will open my eyes!Chip wrote:... and you had your first white today, and your eyes were opened. I hope this will be a trend to carry over to greens perhaps!Corona wrote:Well, never had it, thus, cannot crave it.

10 again, just like yesterday! I absolutely love green tea, especially Japanese greens. Especially gyokuro.
Not very much tea today... Between classes and the dentist, I was in my dorm for maybe an hour total before 8:30 at night.
Remedied that fact with two cups of hibiscus tea and some iced green tea.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
I have not tried enough green teas to crave them, but I want to start trying some good greens, as my taste for oolong is way at the green end of the range.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
I said 10, I crave green tea more than I crave any other tea. This doesn't mean that I enjoy it the most, however. It's more of a physical reaction to umami...
No tea today.
No tea today.

Wow, too many posts that I wanted to reply to! But +1 to all the green tea cravers out there!
TD continued with a green theme, more sencha followed by a Taiwan green.
I guess the subtle difference is lost in print as I heard the options in my head as intended.
BTW, I had a tasting of Shin-Ryoku today, I always like this selection while Fuka-Midori has never really wowed me. Yet the Fuka Midori is Den's #1 seller year ofter year, go figure! It has been several years since I had the FM, have to give it another try?!?

Sounds like a good idea! Maybe try some Taiwan or Chinese green first!rhondabee wrote:I have not tried enough green teas to crave them, but I want to start trying some good greens, as my taste for oolong is way at the green end of the range.
Maybe the same advice!Corona wrote:Indeed...now to find something green that will open my eyes!
Maybe try Long Jing ... aka Dragon Well!Appleber... wrote:I'm new to trying green teas because I've never liked them but think I may have not tried the right ones.
