Likely about the same. Most tea I buy is in the 18-30 USD range per 100 grams. Nice thing about Japanese tea, you really do not have to spend oodles of moolah to get a very good tea! Matcha and gyo can ruin the tea budget, fortunately I purchase ostly sencha.
However the strong yen has likely increased the prices.
Great TD ... sencha sencha and sencha. First up was a tasting of a new sencha for possible OTTI. SweeTea gave it the nod of approval while Lili and Shincha had not a clue. Next Sencha Premier from Adagio and finally some dribs and drabs sencha that was mild but excellent.

My tea orders are getting much more expensive these days. Now that I've spent time developing my palate I feel that it's no longer a waste to try really expensive teas.
Forgot the name, but had a chinese green from Rishi brewed grandpa style.

I think in reality my purchases are about the same, but I am striving to buy less expensive teas, since what I started out with was pretty expensive. Just too expensive to sustain my daily tea drinking habit. So I am searching for less expensive alternatives for every day, but trying to stay with high quality tea.
