I'm going to go with 53. I'd be VERY impressed with your bladder if you tried 103.Chip wrote:OK, I have tried 13, 23, 33, 43, 53, or 103 this 2010 Japanese harvest. So which is it?
A free generously sized Japanese green tea sample to someone who guesses correctly! In the event of a tie, I will pull a name out of a TeaPot! So guess by posting by Monday at noon.

Ahhhh we are trying to guess how many different senchas chip has tried this year since spring...hmmmmm......103 seems a bit extreme but chips pretty extreme about his Japanese teas....so I think I'll assume he's extreme enough and go with 103

It's been a great summer of shincha and sencha!
Hmmm, since I did the contest, I really cannot say too much.
Remember to include your highs and lows!

... send to me for ... analysis!Kunkali wrote:So new to tea.....but anyway I had dens kukicha which was a shincha harvest (my next order of it was non shincha and a definite lack of umami) a yutaka midori diamond leaf fukamushi shincha from umami chaya, a bunch of gyos in my freezer with no idea what they are as they're all in Japanese, kabusecha from yuuki...and a few more on their way in the mail. Oh yah had the sencha fuka that's offered in dens green sampler also.
Re: Summer of Sencha 2010, etc.
I have tried about 5 sencha's on my own, then the two OTTI's. That was such a treat to try sencha's from multiple vendors without breaking the bank.
For the high's, YM Supreme ranks up there, and Uji Miyabi sencha from O-Cha is way up there as well. I also tried the Sakura sencha fro O-Cha and was surprised how much I enjoyed that.
I guess the only disappointment was the sample of Shincha from Adagio. I'll admit I did not give it to much of a chance with all the other wonderful senchas I had around.
For Chip I am going to guess 53, although I would not be surprised at all if it ends up being 103!

No Sencha - just Shincha
And I still have 4 unopend, sealed ones in the fridge. - You told me not to open to much at the same time
And perhaps some of you remember the time when finding the world of tea - so much to do with sampling whites, Oolongs, Chinese greens, Pu Erh,...
I really loved Shincha OTTI.
And I liked Oku Yutaka from O-Cha.
Oh and Chip sampled 43 I think

Re: Summer of Sencha 2010, etc.
I'm going with 33, Chip.
I've had only 4 so far this year, but I got a real late start.
Warashina Supreme has slowly grown on me. I steep it a little longer and a little hotter than suggested and now I love it. Light asamushi-cha.
Kaoru Supreme blew my mind. Love it. I guess I am applying for membership in the fuka-clan.
I thought Harney and Son's Kagoshima Sencha was good compared to their standard sencha, which I actually drank a good bit of this year.
Oh, things will be different.

Opposite for me.Marco wrote:No Sencha - just Shincha
Only six sencha, though I'm going to guess that Chip's tally is more impressive and guess 43.
Re: Summer of Sencha 2010, etc.
Chip... I think you lost count of how many you tried and it was actually 73.
Re: Summer of Sencha 2010, etc.
I tried both OOTI's with shinchas + separate 100g senchas uji miyabi, sae midori and yutaka midori LE, all from O-Cha.
And Chip, I'll go with 23 tried senchas...
