I found myself needing to vote for none of the options as I find that any of them could also be flaws; also there isn't any one that stands above the rest for me. So while I appreciate floral, fruity, and nutty, I can't pick one that stands out.
For me it is how these flavor/aroma notes relate to other flavors and aromas as well as the quality & tone of the flavors/aromas.
So I'm always aware of the relational qualities in tea - are the flavors, aromas, and other elements playing well together and is there some kind of balance?
So, depending on the tea, any one of these qualities might stand out as my favorite, only the tea will tell. Tea jewel? Or cup of swill?
Slept in today, no tea yet.
Matcha soon.
Cheers.

I waffled a bit on this, but settled down with grassy. I love vegetal, nutty, and marine too, but sometimes they get too rich for me and i need a break.

I always did like chewing tender, white grass shoots.

Starting my teaday with genmaicha with matcha from O-cha. :)

Had some coffee to start the day and wanted a toasty flavoured tea to follow it.

I said: malty and so far it seems that I'm the only one that favors this taste  My second choice would be floral.
Just had some organic matcha from Den's tea. I feel so caffeinated!!!!

I love the nuttiness of a nice fukamushi. I voted for nutty, but it's followed closely by

grassy
earthy
floral

I do enjoy the cinnamon note with floral as sometimes found in oolongs, as previously mentioned.

Started the day off with o-cha miyabi. More grassy than nutty.

My favorites in order are (for oolongs):
Floral
Spicy
Fruity
Grassy
Smokey
Nutty
Peppery
Earthy
Malty
Vegetal
Marine/oceanic

Recently "malty" has really been on the decline with me, especially in blacks. Yunnan Gold which I find very malty, is no longer a favorite.

I'd say, in rough order:
nutty
grassy
fruity/vegetal/floral (tie)
spicey

The rest not so much, though definitely malty for breakfast.

Mid-steamed kabuse cha coming up.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Victoria! Happy birthday to Brad4419, and happy Veterans' Day!

Let's see... I think my favorite is earthy, closely followed by floral, grassy, and vegetal. (I absolutely love both pu-erh and green tea...)

Rose congou this afternoon, currently treating myself to some birthday gyokuro.

Happy belated birthday wishes to SkippyandJiff and Brad! I hope it was a great day.

Thank you Proinsias for coloring our Teaday.

It has been a busy day here getting OTTI done and helping out the MIL. I have not had a chance to even think about the topic and how to answer. I might have to visit it tomorrow.

Nevertheless a great TeaDay with several nice sencha with the Mrs.

I would say my first choice would be fruity, but not fruity like a blend, more fruity like the citrus-y or peachy notes you get with some Nilgiris and Darjeelings. Second would be floral, then maybe peppery? My least favorite would be malty or vegetal.

Today I drank a lot of TeaSource's Peppermint Twist to help soothe my cold. I'm not a big blended tea drinker, but this is an excellent blend of Keemun black tea, peppermint leaves, and rosehips. It's great for a sore throat!

Happy B-Day to Skippyand Jiff and Brad!

Happy Veterans Day!

and Happy Birthday Skippyandjif, its great to have the day off on your birthday :D
Thanks everyone for the kind birthday wishes, I didn't have classes today so I went home to see my family.

Its always fun to see how our tastes in tea change over time and this has been a change for me. My favorite is still Nutty but now green teas have taken over the top half of the list. I put peppery at the bottom because I just can't find that flavor :? Ive tried yunnan golds and just couldn't taste anything peppery but will keep trying.

Here it is
Nutty
Smokey
Floral
Vegetal
Malty
Grassy
Fruity
Earthy
Spicey
Peppery
Marine/Oceanic

tie luo han again today

Keemun for the afternoon...considering what to brew for the evening...

decided to rank the flavour notes for fun...and to fill the second half of the question :D

Fruity
Smokey
Marine
Peppery
Vegetal
Floral
Spicey
Malty
Nutty
Grassy
Earthy

Mostly common oolong notes at the top...while common green tea notes near the bottom....but like I said earlier the Japanese teas often have a buttery character...and the Marine and Vegetal notes are ranked fairly high too...which explains why I´ve been drinking a lot of them lately :)

Hard to pick one in this list.. It depends on what type of tea I am drinking..
right now its been the TGY as well as a lot of Taiwanese High Mtn. so more on the floral and Buttery of there was a choice for that.
with Sencha it is different of course..and Gyo different as well
