Re: Friday TeaDay 11/12/10 Right pot for the job?
Don't need no fancy fixin's beyond the Tea and a cup (or a bowl, or tumbler) and water of the correct temperature. The Tea itself supplies my pleasure.
Can always use my teeth as a strainer!

Would definately brew the tea with whatever i had available, i am still building my teaware collection so pretty much everything is brewed in a gaiwan or filter basket, have also tried grandpa style once.
Trying norbu's 2009 ruby black this morning, not to thrilled with the first infusion, but the second is definately growing on me.

Started the day with Jungpana Upper FF Darjeeling from Lupicia. This one is a cut above the one from yesterday.
As for the poll; I'd brew it up in a mason jar if need be. Nothing would stand between me and an excellent tea.

No, I'd probably wait until I had an appropriate vessel.
I'd do research and try to obtain the same tea but lesser quality and practice on it first. Then, if a specific vessel would bring out the best of the tea I would get it before starting to brew.
I will not disrespect great craft or great art. And if the tea truly was ``the most incredible tea ever'' then I would be sure to share with others who could help to chronicle it. If a specific vessel and a little patience are needed then I can provide both.

Definitely. Why not?
I used to be uptight about stuff like that, but now I'm pretty laid back.
I'll use a gaiwan or a standard English teapot for pretty much anything.

Yes, I would brew it right up, as long as I knew the proper parameters to brew it. If not, then I search or ask here to find out!
More oolong sampling today from Tea from Taiwan today. Still have a few to go before I decide on an order. Probably won't finish up before the Sencha's arrive, so they will have to wait
