ZERO. I was a TeaNeophyte. A rookie. A greenhorn.

I drank tea occasionally all my life. But just prior to joining the board, I discovered oolongs and my love of tea really took off and became a big part of my life. I felt a real need to "talk tea" and no one to talk to, so I came here. The rest is history. :) So kinda both. :)

In my cup: Young Tree Baozhong from Tea Masters.

I have always been a tea drinker but I didn't get really obsessed until about 4/5 years ago.

I hope you had a very happy birthday with great tea, auhckw!

So I was reading here about three weeks before I joined.
And starting reading was about the time my interest for tea started.
Found Teachat on a Blog about tea.
And me greenhorn really learns a lot from the longhorns - and even some other greenhorns ;)

In my cup today is 2010 Yunnan Sourcing "Jing Gu Yang Ta" - a free sample I have got. It is nice, mellow, sweet and drinkable now. I like it.

GREENHORN all the way baby!

I actually found all of you while looking for tea supplies!

No tea for me right now, but recently finished a Bio mint tasting tea from Lucerne, Switzerland.

i have been a constant tea drinker for about 5 years. I started looseleaf tea about 4 years ago, but only in the past year have i actually gotten serious about it and really started to love and become more habit forming with tea. i have also learned a lot since joining. i lurked on this site probably 8+ months before actually posting anything. which i JUST recently did.

side note:my Chinese coworker told me last week that i am into TEA more then many Chinese people and laughed, so that's basically saying its becoming a serious habit for me.... i like to talk shop with her since she knows a little on the subject.

Close to 20 years, it must have been. Came across the forum by way of Adagio, no doubt by way of Google, thought I don't rightly recall--thought "hmm, that's interesting," did nothing about it for the longest time, finally joined, but have been more an irregular/lurker than a regular contributor. (We introverts like to stand quietly in the corner and take notes on all the good conversation. Cup of tea in hand, natch.)

Oku yutaka in the cup tonight--trying to finish off the last few remnants of my spring buying splurge to clear the decks for, let's see, several new China greens recently arrived, some light-roasted Taiwan oolongs waiting for me at the post office, and a fresh batch of also-recently-arrived senchas just begging to be sampled. A serious case of delayed gratification is building up here...

Since I was about 12, so just over 10 years. But that was mostly bagged. Loose tea has been more like the last 4 years. And I've been on TC for less than a year (TC has definitely broadened my horizons, I've tried many things I might not have otherwise!)

Haven't been around much lately because a) I still can't get on at work, and b) things have been a little crazy at home - still settling in to the new place, etc.

Snowbud all day at work!

I'd been drinking tea for 15 years before finding TeaChat-- basically ever since I was three or four years old. Granted, it had been exclusively teabag tea for most of those 15 years, but once I went away to college, I came into possession of looseleaf tea paraphernalia (best graduation present ever!! ).

I found TeaChat when I was looking up tea vendors online and wanted to find reviews of various places, and upon further investigation of the forum, found it totally rockin'. 8)

Rose congou this afternoon; just finished some new lavender sencha that I got at the local Asian market yesterday. I think I'm in love.

I drank bagged tea somewhat regularly for about a year before I joined TeaChat, but I was pretty much a TeaNeophyte.

Fuji SP from Zencha (OTTI) today, very nice indeed.

I said 15 years as a rough guess...20 would make me too young for hot drinks but I´ve been drinking tea for as long as I can remember...though for most of that time it has been brewed from teabags bought at the supermarket

Today I´ve been drinking 2010 Mansai puerh from Essence of Tea in my new teapot and cups from Petr Novak :)

pictures are posted in the teaware forum

Forgot to mention how I got to TeaChat: a comment by Imen at TeaHabitat, when we were talking teas. Drank a very nice gongfu cha session of kan tou aka stone wall edge Dan cong last night, in my nice chao Zhou pot. Today only a thermos full of white bud shen puerh, but could really have used more. Need a mug and an ingenuitea for this office...

Hmmm, hard to remember.
I think I had been drinking tea for 1 or 2 years.
I happened upon tea chat sometime during my Internet tea travels.
Sipping some 'gypsy cold care' - pretty much says it all for today.

I came onto TC after seriously and constantly drinking tea for about 7 years ... and then occasionally for many years before that. I thought I knew all I needed to know, or could know about tea, wow was I wrong!

Great TD with 3 sencha sessions ...
