We really need the option of never. I have never been to a midnight showing and probably never will. On the rare occasion i go to see a movie in the theater, I ususally go to the earliest show on tuesday/wednesday. Tickets are cheaper, you dont have to stand in line, and there are rarely more than 10-15 people in the theater (almost guaranteed to be adults) so talking, etc is less of a problem. Working nights does have a few perks.
Had some aged dongding grandpa style this morning while visiting garage sales, bought a new teapot its too big to use just for me (approz 40 oz)but very unusual so i couldnt help myself, it has a music box built into the base, when you lift the pot to pour the tea the music starts playing and stops when you set the pot back down, for $2 i have yet another dust collector, but very pretty.

Re: Weekend TeaRoom 11/20-21/10 Midnight Run?
It would have happened this past week, but I had a test on Friday so I could not go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter. That being said I am not one for many midnight showings of movies, but I grew up basically as Harry Grew up, I have always been roughly the same age as Harry throughout all of the books.
I still by far prefer the books to the movies, not that either of them are great works of art, although I feel Harry Potter might become a classic series for Teenagers to read, but then again I feel it will basically stay as popular teen fiction.
To answer the question the last movie I saw at midnight was two summers ago when the 6th Harry Potter movie came out.

I'm such a night owl, I would go every week if I could. Maybe someday.
Today it is POURING down rain!! And we are supposed to go out to dinner. Hope it clears up some. I do love the rain, but going out in it is not a favorite.
In my cup at the moment Thurbo FF from Tea Emporium.

First time was not a premier, it was the midnight showing of "Rocky Horror Picture Show". Dang, that was a long time ago!! (boy, I'm old!) They showed it, I think, Friday and Saturday nights at midnight for a least a year, maybe more. One of the first "cult" films. People came often and dressed up, said lines along with the movie and sang the songs. It was a lot of fun! Like a goofy party! I only went twice though.
Last time was in 2005, and it was for Harry Potter movie premier. I took my daughters, they were teens at the time but didn't drive yet. I was so dead tired the next day.
This time I didn't go with them, my oldest is 20 and my youngest is 17, so they get to sit on the ground for hours by themselves and drive themselves there and back. I went to bed by 11:30pm and felt fine the next day! Them, not so much!

I think the last (and only?) time was for the premier of the second or third Matrix movie. Not much of a night owl.

Welcome Astevens to TeaChat and TeaDay. Please introduce yourself under Introductions.
First and last midnight showings was the LotR I, II, III trilogy with the Mrs. Having waited decades for the movie(s) to come out, I was not going to miss the premiers!
The next midnight showing will likely be The Hobbit's two editions, assuming they have midnight showings.
Great TD, Togei in the morning, Kame Gyokuro in the afternoon, and Happy Tea this evening.

I would say these are anticipated enough they are almost sure to have midnight showings. Although I have not been keeping tabs on it, as they have been talking about the movie for such a long time, but it was locked in various legal battles and such that I had almost given up hope of it being produced. Though I did hear they finally got the go ahead.Chip wrote: The next midnight showing will likely be The Hobbit's two editions, assuming they have midnight showings.

Seen the new Clash of the Titans in 3D at a midnight showing sometime in the past year. My better half found the 3D terrifying and watched most of it with either the glasses off or her hands in front of her face. I have to say I found her more entertaining than the movie, last time I could say that I was about sixteen and near the back

The only midnight showings of movies I've seen are three Rocky Horror Picture Shows, in NYC. Man, I love that movie.
If school doesn't conflict with it, though, I'm totally seeing The Hobbit at midnight when it comes out!!!
Pu-erh all day and most likely all night-- I'm probably going to stay up until some bizarre hour drawing comics.

I don't think I ever have... I'm that kind of lame. Or just not that into movies. Oh well!
Re: Weekend TeaRoom 11/20-21/10 Midnight Run?
I also don't think I've ever been to a midnight showing. I'm not sure they even had those in the town I grew up...
Having some lovely sencha today. Slurp.

Was in middle school when Star Wars Special Edition had midnight openings at the theaters. I was at the first two.

ahh...den's yame fuka this morning. Yesterday afternoon was all about some 90's dancong thanks to tokyoBob.
It's at about this time, 8am, that we gear up for an entire day of watching either Pixar's Cars or, if we're lucky, the less annoying Finding Nemo on an infinite loop. I'm sure our boy would be game for a midnight viewing of either one of these any time.

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Now that was a major letdown and I never went to a midnight screening again
