The uncertainty of what is going on in Japan and the even bigger uncertainty of how government agencies like the FDA may react/overreact to the situation has me wondering if Japanese teas will be a scarce commodity this Spring.

I'm wondering if when I return from Japan in June that my usual luggage stuffed with tea will get all ripped apart in US Customs and the stuff confiscated? We'll see.

Last year I went for gao shan cha for spring harvests. This year, it is going to be japanese greens.

I've learnt so much in a year. I hope it will be the same in 2011 !

First spring for me, i'm quite exited to try new sencha and gyokuro and compare it to previous season

Today I´ve been drinking 2004 Xiaguan Bao Yan....continued from yesterday...Mmmmm dark and sweet with just a little bit of bite

Finishing the day with Organic Sencha from Rishi. Small steeps since sencha is rare here right now ... better a little sencha than no sencha!

I'm going for different this spring. Last year I just stuck with my favorites from the previous year. That worked out fine but was a bit boring, so this year I want to try some new tea. lao cong shui xan and tai ping hou kui top the "to try" list.
