I cross brew fairly frequently, as I mostly use a gaiwan, my ingenuitea, or a stainless or porcelain English-style pot. Oolong works very well in the ingenuitea(as does pretty much everything), but if I'm brewing for more than just myself, I will almost always use an English pot.
No tea yet, going for some now. Maybe a peach blend..

I would use a porcelain teapot. In fact, I still brew the majority of my teas like this. At work, I use Den's glazed kyusu. At home I have this cute teapot from Rishi for my all around pot.

But I do have a nice Kyusu for my sencha’s at home. I am sure over the years I will collect more tea specific pots.

When in doubt, I grab first for the gaiwan.
Today, started with a bagged, flavored tea--a gift--in a mug, but now righting the universe with oolong in gaiwan. Whew.

I am certain you are correct ... forgot to mention, this even has my preferred handle shape where it is like a ball in the palm of your hand. Perfect and comfy.brlarson wrote:If you held this pot in your hand then I don't think you could resist the urge any longer:-)Chip wrote:I have been looking seriously at Yoshiki kyusu-s for quite some time... Porcelain gaiwan.
I'm currently having a session with TeaMasters 2008 roasted TGY. Packed my gaiwan full of leaves and I'm getting a bit of a caffeine rush.
This past weekend I've been drinking down my 2010 Autumn Bilochun from YS, mostly grandpa style. I think I might pick up some fresh Chinese greens this year, along with the planned Puerh purchases of course.

Preferred Method = Gaiwan. The official Chinese tea-for-one for cross brewing. Just add hot water.

Transparent glass, definitely. I think it's really cool to see the leaves as they brew.
Chamomile tea all day today. Yummmmmm.

That's how I've been drinking my tea throughout today, always relaxing and pretty, though now I'm moving to some wuyi via gaiwan.Skippyandjif wrote:Transparent glass, definitely. I think it's really cool to see the leaves as they brew.
