Today's dilemma that slowed the tea picking was that a few days ago, we had a mini-heat wave, and one morning I did a new favorite thing when out of time after only two infusions of sencha: I covered the leaves with cold water and left them, in the kyusu, in the fridge.
Then we had a couple of chilly mornings in a row, including today, and I wanted hot sencha, but my kyusu was filled with cold stuff, and cold stuff that was too good to toss out.
So....putter, ponder, putter, ponder, and several minutes later, I prepared a delicious spicy tisane of tulsi, hibiscus, cinnamon, saffron, and cloves, and drank that hot to warm me up, and then drank the chilled sencha.
