From the same artist...

Left, similar like mine but bigger size...
Right, different design type. She said something about Rabbit something...

I need to get myself a torchlight. Temmoku looks so nice with light shining into them.

I long for a nice hare's fur song dynasty tea bowl. I'd buy a modern one if they got the colors and textures right, but I have not really seen one that does it for me. I have a modern oil spot bowl, but it just isn't quite right.

If you look, there is no wear on them and the foot rims are wrong. Tea bowls that are 1000 years old ain't quite so shiny.

These look wrong. The foot should be back clay if from Fujian. These are northern tenmoku knock offS.

I will take both your word for it..plus i just read this too as if you two werent enough! :D

Points for authenticating of Jian wares are:
Black colored glaze anda dark clay body (due to high iron content), which is relatively thick.
Firing was done face up, thus the black glaze shows signs of running downward towards the foot.
The glaze was applied both on the inside and outside. Earlier Jian tea bowls have a thinner glaze; later ones have a thick glaze that gives the appearance of oil drops. Under the glaze fine thread-like crystals of brown-yellow color should be present.
The rim is mostly brown and the exposed small foot rim is clearly free of glaze.
The clay of its relatively low foot should have a rough surface (if it is smooth it is likely a later copy).

i still think they look nice..although I wouldn't be paying that price fr them..i haven't broken the hundred dollar mark on any teaware yet..and probably wont anytime soon..i think...maybe...perhaps..not with these anyway!
