Re: Friday the 13th TeaDay 1/13/2012 TeaPassion Evolution?
I've been (re)focusing more single-origin coffees and wine for the past few months. With the exception of my daily sencha/gyokuro session and oolongs a few times a week, tea consumption has definitely waned.

Hey, good to see you Eric ... I was going to put out an APB for your TEArest.

Re: Friday the 13th TeaDay 1/13/2012 TeaPassion Evolution?
To paraphrase Lewis Carroll, the March Hare asked Alice if she'd like more tea, to which she replied she could hardly have more since she'd had none yet. In response, the March Hare remarked that if she'd had none yet, she could certainly have more, since it is quite easy to have more than none.
So it is with myself and the passion for tea. Although an avid tea drinker all my life, I'd have to say I had zilch passion for Tea. I have only just discovered there is a world of tea out there that was totally unbeknownst to me--seems it was in another dimension altogether. For Lord knows what reason, about two months ago, I got a just a glimpse (satori?)
through a small crack, as it were, into that other dimension when I discovered TeaChat. I feel like a chick just beginning to hatch out of it's shell, pecking at the shell bit by bit, hurriedly, as it becomes aware of a whole new exciting world out there. . . (Tea Nirvana?).
So, passion--none up until recently--easy to have more than none, eh?

My passion for Tea remains the same, but, because I now have to limit my liquid intake to a total of 40 ounces a day (chronic kidney disease), I'm having to drink less Tea.
John, sorry to hear you've been ill.

My passion for tea seems to be....unsteady at best. I go through phases when I can't get out of bed without it, and times when anything remotely caffeinated makes me feel ill.
Overall though, I believe my passion has grown over this year... or at least changed in favor of enjoying tea in a purer form. This time last year I'm pretty sure I still preferred my blacks with copious amounts of sugar

My passion for tea is still going strong... but is more focused now that I know what I'm doing at least a little bit and finding out what I like, what times of year to get it, and from whom.
It's nice to have this forum to talk with other tea addicts. I've found while when I first started out I could keep a conversation going with casual tea drinkers (ie, hey! I tried this crazy aged tea call puerh... it's really interesting.)... my level of snobbishness would now bore the average Celestial Seasonings drinker to tears. If they only knew!
Having some *ahem* aged yunnan green grandpa style right now.

My passion for tea has indeed grown to new heights that it has not yet known before. In the past, I've just enjoyed tea, but I've learned just how much there is to know about it and all I want to do is learn more!
I'd be interested to see this question asked at the same time next year to see how I feel then!

Which tea I'm most 'passionate' about varies from day to day. Today, I started with a lovely session with one of my latest tea-passions, the Gu Zhu Zi Sun green tea from Norbu. And then I moved on to a session with the amazing Song Zhong #5 from Tea Habitat, and now I'm working on some Ru Cao Xiang sheng from Yunnan Sourcing. I expect, at the dilution that I prefer, that this one will last the rest of the evening.

Passion WAY up. Yet another rebirthing of my interest in tea. This one has outshadowed all previous ones combined, however, and all within about a month.

Well, being a complete newbie to loose tea, I would definitely say that my consumption and passion have gone up. I'm enjoying learning as much as I can, and, while overwhelming at times, it's just a fascinating subject. As my education grows, I think I will over time begin to narrow things down to preferences. For now, I am sampling everything! And even those I didn't really like the first time around are getting fair second shots - with interesting results!

that's kinda where I am at
After my tea consumption, fruits, veggies, noodles, soups, rice etc I am hydrated more then enough, just no room for plain water anymore (though sometimes I will buy a nice bottle of high ph water from some exotic destination to set aside if I am ever thirsty very late at night and too tired to make tea).
Some winter da wu ye today from jing very nice and also friendly on an empty stomach !
