Thank you both, I'm humbled by the thought. If there wasn't the need to prepare pieces for the show, it'd be an honor to make that scoop a part of your life.William wrote:I thought the same thing!Alex wrote:I need that scoop in my life.

Re: Artisan tea tools and where to find them
I got this tools from a wood-working master in Tainan. A lot of people around here just use the upside down spoon to place the tool on top, once not needed anymore.
This piece is particularily nice as the outside grain is pretty much left natural and the inside has a nice contrasting colour. The master does not use any varnishing, he only uses his special technique to smoothen the wood.
A really humble, old guy, looks himself a lot like a gnarly old tree.
When I asked him that I wanted to buy one of his tools when we met at a Chaxi, he pulled one out of his pocket and just gave it to me...
Still working on a revanche gift for him.

Really beautiful set! And...great photography as well! What a wonderful way to come into tea ware as a companion for the journey. That encounter is the definition of 緣份!

Went to see wood-fire-kiln in action last weekend and saw that my generous wood carving friend had made another set for the tea table at the kiln, have look. The pince really works!

That is truly a set to behold... Beautifully raw and simple. Thanks for sharing! I hope you enjoyed the active kiln, sounds like a wonderful experience.Bok wrote:Went to see wood-fire-kiln in action last weekend and saw that my generous wood carving friend had made another set for the tea table at the kiln, have look. Hi All, I know I'm late in on this topic, but got to ask.
Hi Bok, when browsing these forums I see that you are very informative on the tea scene in Taiwan. Do you have reccomendations on where to look at such pieces in Tainan? I'm might be heading to Taiwan this year or next.
Hi Teaart08, do you make those pieces for sale? They are very beautiful! I can't PM you though as I'm still new on this forum.
Thanks!
