One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

I'll echo the sentiments about W2T being an excellent vendor for young (and old) puer. One simply needs to adjust to a somewhat novel naming scheme.....

I'm heavily invested in the 2014 Last Thoughts and of course had high hopes for the 2015 version. It's also a superb tea, likely the best new sheng we can acquire in the west. However my own body's reaction to it was akin to taking sleeping pills - I simply wanted a nap. Others report a strong reaction to it also but perhaps in different directions. With Qi, it seems, always YMMV.

On the other hand, the Tuhao AF provided the smile-inducing stimulation that I prefer from young sheng. Just didn't care much for its aftertaste.

On to the 72 Hours. For me this is W2T's 2015 winner. Great Qi and flavors. If it ages as Paul indicates then I will be very happy with this one.

Are those teas really that good to reflect the +$100 price tags? Especially for new cakes that seems really high, at least to what I am used to seeing.

Looking over old posts, I decided to edit this one because I cannot recommend Yunnan Sourcing anymore.

These are normal prices for today's boutique puerhs; mass produced factory cakes will of course still be cheaper

As for the White2teas goes, I preferred the If you're reading this... over the poundcake by a good margin for the price range. The Tuhao was very good and I really have a thing for the Colbert Holland (well rounded IMO). I have some Last Thoughts I'm anxiously waiting for the right moment to try :o

I've been meaning to pick up some of the TeaUrchin 2015 maocha to try but haven't yet pulled the trigger. Can anyone share their thoughts on these if you've had them?

I'd be interested in specific recommendations from TU's lineup too. I haven't purchased any from there and that seems an oversight I should rectify.

Yeah, I was also surprised by the body effects of the Last Thoughts. But after two sessions I'm more inclined to enjoy my 2014 version as that always seems to put a smile on my face.

"Worth it" is all relative. I happen to enjoy young sheng and quality always seems to cost. YMMV.

For the cheaper offerings from W2T I agree that my enjoyment of the 2 Late was greater than the Poundcake. I'd consider it a very good value buy.

Not sure why Tea Urchin's 2015 cakes are so slow in coming. I heard that there were delays in pressing but this seems a bit odd. Cakes that I can recommend are the 2014 Gao Shan Zhai and Wan Gong. The Man Zhuan is good if you enjoy that area's teas. I thought the LBZ was also very tempting but it's the only one that I've tried so cannot compare it to others and couldn't personally justify the $$$.

The Lao Man E Four Peaks is also a great cake. I think the blending makes it even more interesting. Anyone else aging this cake?
